What clients say about their holidays with Dragon Travel...

If you have recently returned from a trip with Dragon Travel, we should greatly value your comments to allow us to improve our service.

" All went very well. All our guides and drivers were courteous, extremely helpful - nothing too much trouble. We enjoyed oursleves enormously. Also very nice to have a female guide in Shimla. Whatever we asked for the guide/drivers were very responsive. I dropped my mobile phone twice and they managed to find a shop for repairs! "

" Just to let you know what a wonderful and diverse tour North Vietnam and Northern Laos was. Hanoi was, apparently, relatively quiet after the New Year, which made life easier for us to see the marvellous sights. In Halong Bay the boat trip and caves were magnificent. We even had the boat to ourselves. Probably the best place we stayed in North Vietnam was Mai Chau Ecolodge. We cannot fault the staff, the standard and location of the hotel. We loved the scenery, cycling through the countryside and seeing local traditional costumes and dancing.
On our journey to Dien Bien Phu we saw the magnificent monument dedicated to the soldiers who pulled the cannon by hand over the mountains to fight against the French. Whilst in Dien Bien Phu we had a lovely meal at Quan Chay Yen Ninh restaurant. It was much better than hotel food, cheap and served by the very friendly family. Our Tay Trang border crossing was an education in itself, requiring lots of patience before entering Laos.
The trip down the Nam Ou was brilliant, albeit very cold and damp in the early morning – another boat to ourselves. We stopped at local villages by the river to visit the schools and hand out pencils and colouring books. For future travellers the village of Ban Sop King was the poorest and neediest place for help. Our hotel at Nong Khiaw was the Riverside Hotel where we had a bungalow overlooking the river and the sunset. From there we drove to the Pak Ou Caves containing over 10,000 Buddhas, then after lunch we sailed to Luang Prabang. It was just wonderful being on the Mekong river in another boat to ourselves.
Our 3 nights in Luang Prabang in My Dream Resort were magical. The room was gorgeous with views over the swimming pool, the fabulous gardens and the river. We loved taking the shortcut into town over the bamboo bridge. The main highlights, apart from the Temples, Museums and Ethnology Centre were the sunsets, giving alms to the monks, the morning and night markets and Khuang Si waterfalls. The local restaurants and food were excellent as well.
Our short flight to Vientiane gave us time for a city tour during which we saw local people preparing the temples for the upcoming New Year celebrations. We also visited the COPE centre to learn about The Secret War when America bombed Laos mercilessly. In the evening we had a really good meal whilst watching traditional Lao musicians and dancing. All in all it was a fabulous cultural experience...
Finally, a sincere thank you for arranging our Bangkok tour at such short notice. We had a fabulous time with our guide, Tom, who was a really nice gentleman. We loved spending the afternoon and evening with him. The boat trip, the walk around China Town, The Golden Buddha Temple and having dinner together by the Mekong river was a marvellous end to our cultural experience. It was obvious that Tom loved his work and enjoyed being with people, and his vast experience in the travel industry made for a great day.
Yours sincerely, 2 very satisfied customers

" Our 5th trip to Myanmar since we first went there in 2013 and were captivated by the splendour and variety of the sights there and the kindness of the guides and people we met on our journies. Each time we have started in Yangon and then followed a different itinerary exploring new areas before relaxing at Ngapali beach. This time we had asked for a short time in Yangon at the beginning and end of the holiday and then ten days to enjoy Ngapali. We had requested Mrs.TinTin again, our guide we had twice before and who we soon regarded not only as a wonderfully knowledgeable and experienced guide but as a close friend. We arrived at Yangon to see her waving and waiting to welcome us back with a beautiful bouquet of roses. We wanted to stay in the hotels we had enjoyed each time and were delighted to find our room in Sule Shangri La was facing the Shwadegon ....... waking up to look out of the window and see its golden shape gradually appearing gleaming through the early morning mist was magical. We had a whole day free with Mrs.TinTin as well as parts of the day we arrived and left to fly to Thandwe as well as a whole day and part day when wen returned for the final days of the holiday. I wanted to go back to the market but otherwise we had every confidence that Mrs.TinTin would suggest different places for us to see, knowing that we had spent a lot of time exploring Yangon in previous visits. The advantage of going on a Dragon travel holiday is that it is tailored to personal interests and with just 2 of us we could go to places that are just not practical or possible with a large group. It is like travelling with family. We sauntered by the lake, went to U Thant’s house, explored the different university buildings including the ancient folded books, walked around the newly opened Secretariat building in the process of restoration provided with hard hat and sunshade as the guide took us round, and took the new water bus travelling across Yangon... The final evening was one of the highlights of the holiday when we were taken out to join the crowds in Chinatown celebrating the Chinese new year. We had not been involved in previous years and it was wonderful making our way through the packed streets past busy stalls and with the thousands of red lanterns lit up - making our way to see the evening’s entrants in the weeklong Lion Dancers competitions. The area was packed and we were able to sit on low stools and watch the dancers performing on poles several feet above the crown. They were marked according to choreography, their ability to pick up the lucky lettuce without dropping it, and of course points lost for losing their balance and falling off. No need for language – the crowd watched as one with sharp intakes of breath as the dancers wobbled and enthusiastic clapping and cheering admiring the skill shown! At Bayview in Ngapali we were greeted as old friends and it was delightful to recognise members of staff there. Perfectly situated on the long open beach with incredible sunsets – heaven to wander along...
With best wishes and many thanks for all your support and organisation in making our previous six holidays with you such wonderful experiences."
- David and Virginia A. (Myanmar, February 2018)

" Charles and I had a marvellous time. Everything worked so well, and we found it very informative and interesting. We loved our time in Cambodia, our first stop. Angkor Wat and the other temples were amazing, and we found the Killing Fields/Tuol Sleng very very moving and sad. Hanoi and Hue were interesting, Halong Bay lovely (weather could have been better!), think maybe a night on a boat would be more fun rather than in the hotel? Hoi An was fab, and we had SUCH a great young man as a guide - Quy. His English was excellent and he was so nice and informative, and very wide knowledge too...
The two days at Phan Thiet were just what we wanted (and by this time needed at the end!) - a relax and recharge of batteries. We will certainly recommend you to anyone who wants to go.With best wishes and thanks again for it all.
- Liz E. (Cambodia & Vietnam February 2018)

" Thank you for arranging our very special trip to Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. We had a wonderful and were extremely well looked after by everyone involved. We are now setting our sites on Japan..."
- Cilla M-S (Laos, Cambodia & Vietnam, December 2017)

" Once again Dragon Travel has provided us with an excellent trip, such that we were not surprised by how well we were looked after. We must mention our excellent driver Tamil who was with us for the duration. Not only did he select very good local guides for sights on our itinerary, but he went out of his way to provide additional local experiences we may otherwise have missed. He was particularly happy the afternoon he took us for a surprise drive and successfully found wild elephants which we were all thrilled about. We were also not surprised by Ki recommending quality accommodations that had great local character and friendly staff that went out of their way to be helpful.

It was Kerala that surprised us on a daily basis.

We customized the suggested itinerary in part by ending our trip relaxing in Kovalam rather than in the city of Mumbai. The Munnar area is simply beautiful. It was well worth adding a day here where we spent half a day trekking through a verdant tea plantation and along a breezy ridge-top in the grasslands. Our surprise that day was the inclusion of a half-day jeep tour which took us into the heart of one of the tea estates. We also highly recommend spending two nights, rather than one, on the houseboat in order to really see local life on the backwaters.

We particularly enjoyed our full day in the Periyar Nature Reserve. That day there was just four of us trekking and bamboo rafting accompanied by one armed guard and 2 experienced rangers. On our trek one ranger spotted fresh tiger tracks although sadly (or thankfully) we did not encounter one. That was a fantastic day, despite a surprise incident with a leech..but thats a different story!
- Christina L. and Penny S. (Kerala October 2017)

" A brief note to say how much we enjoyed the trip you organised for us.
Admin was excellent and the hotels lived up to expectations. The Amara reduced us to delighted mirth to find a slice of Surrey so far from home. The staff there were so helpful and obviously proud of the hotel.
The 4 guides were well trained and friendly, their different characters showed us a number of facets on the country and we not only enjoyed ourselves but left better informed.
We look forward to using you again one day and will certainly recommend you to our friends."
- Neil D.(Myanmar, October 2017)

" We are now back safe and sound from a lovely trip to Cambodia.

Everything was superb, the guides Sam in Siem Reap and Kim from Phnom Penh to Sianoukville excellent, really helpful and knowledgeable. We loved the country, the people, food and the amazing sights. The hotels were of a high standard and the service excellent.

Thank you Dragon Travel for a memorable trip."
- Mary & Mike P.(Cambodia, October 2017)

" We had a marvellous holiday in Vietnam. All of the arrangements that you made for us worked like clockwork. The guides were so professional, knowledgeable and friendly, going just that extra mile to ensure that we got the most out of this fascinating country. Our hotels were excellent and the restaurants that you selected for our included meals, particularly the surprise floating restaurant on the Saigon River were of a very good standard. "
- Ray & Chris W.(Vietnam, September 2017)

" We have had an excellent trip and everything has gone to plan. All our hotels have been excellent and Ngapali Bay Villas and Spa was absolutely first class, our villa and pool were amazing...The Myanmar people are womderful and have made our holiday extra special.
All our guides were excellent and adapted our itinerary to enable us to see how the Myanmar people live. "
- Brian and Mary G.(Myanmar, March 2017)

" Just wanted to say thank you for organising a fantastic holiday. We had a wonderful time. Everything was organised extremely well including flights, guides and drivers, hotels and food. The holiday was very good value for money. We look forward to travelling with you again in the future. Many thanks."
- Richard and Lori B.(Myanmar, March 2017)

" Hello Ki and Rob, when we travelled with you to Myanmar we had an excellent time, so we were delighted when we visited Bhutan with Dragon Travel recently that our tour of Bhutan was equally as good. The two holidays had many features of a similar nature but Bhutan was unique. The countryside, the people, the festivals, the archery and so much more was so different to any holiday we have enjoyed. Something new, interesting, and unusual seemed to occur everyday, and we have to say that our Guide, Bhim was superb and so was our drive Fonso, we got on very well together and they looked after us so well it is difficult to think of anything that didn't go well. If anyone is not sure about whether they should go to Bhutan, we would say most definitely yes, it will be the holiday of a lifetime, thank you for organising such a magnificent time."
- John and Jean H.(Bhutan, March 2017)

" This is the 4th holiday you have organised for us, starting in Yangon and ending with a few days at Bayview, Ngapali, and with different itineraries exploring new areas of the country each time...
As always it is the people that make the holiday and one particular memory is visiting the Buddhist temple at Loikaw in late afternoon in time to watch the sunset. The place was not busy and the views lovely over the city in all directions including a nearby monastery which we had visited earlier and seen the novices studying and learning scriptures by heart. Now they were appearing on the roof and seemed to be doing something .... well they were folding paper into paper aeroplanes and flying them off the roof. Absolutely brilliant to see.
Another special memory is feeding sugar cane to the elephants at the zoo. One obviously felt I was not quick enough and knocked the sugar cane out of my hand .... resulting in a very surprised look which David captured on the camera!
With many thanks again for all the organization and personal care that you put in preparing our holidays. "
- David and Virginia A.(Myanmar, February 2017)

" Our thanks to Ki and Rob for yet another wonderful holiday - this time in magical Myanmar.

The hotels, tours and restaurants were all excellent , and our guides particularly May in Bagan and Su in Mandalay, were exceptional and made our stay . Highlights for us were beautiful Inle Lake and the quite magical Old Bagan - and throughout Dragon Travel's arrangements for us worked perfectly, without a hitch.

Overall, both Judy and I thought this was the best holiday we have ever had. So interesting and varied, with good accommodation, excellent guides and transport, and all the arrangements went like clockwork! We would particularly compliment you on your interpretation of our brief -- the breaks/ days off between tours were perfect, so that we had time also to enjoy the hotels/pools and things in the immediate area, especially in Bagan. Thank you all for arranging a quite wonderful holiday for us."
- Michael and Judy P.(Myanmar. February 2017)

" Our guide gave us a very detailed and objective account of the Khmer Rouge period. It is of course very difficult to understand how such a peaceful people can descent into such barbarity and our guides's narrative gave us as unbiased an account as one could manage,
At a practical level he was very good on personal safety, prices in the market, key landmarks in Phnom Penh to help us with navigation etc. "
- Rob P.(Cambodia, February 2017)

" The holiday was excellent, well paced and the Hotels were all very good / excellent quality. I would happily recommend Dragon Travel (I just have to a friend) and expect we will travel with you again at some time. Thank you. "
- Nigel S. (Myanmar Small Group Tour, February 2017)

" Thank-you for another wonderful holiday.
My daughter and I have just returned from India it has been an amazing adventure.
As always our hotels were superb. Our guides and drivers were so informed and passionate about India and went to so much trouble to make sure our holiday was perfect in everyway.
Looking back I cannot believe we got to see so much of the Golden Triangle in such a short time,it was all truly remarkable. Goa was a little piece of paradise.
With much appreciation to Rob for his help and patience in helping me with my visa which was perfect. "
- Mrs Jill B (India, February 2017)

" We just wanted to tell you both what a wonderful trip we have been having so far in Myanmar. We are about to move on to the river cruise, but our stays in Yangon and Bagan have been outstanding, with brilliant hotels, tours- and, especially, guides. May, our guide here, has been quite exceptional.

Thank you so much for all your arrangements. "
- Michael and Judy P (Myanmar, February 2017)

" My wife and I would like to thank both of you for arranging an outstanding trip to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar. We were always met by a guide wherever we landed. The guides were well informed. The drivers did a fine job threading their way through dense traffic. The sites we sawwere fascinating. The hotel rooms were excellent. The food was well prepared. Thank you so much for a very memorable trip which we will never forget."
- Dr Chris S.(Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and laos, January 2017)

" A wonderful magical holiday. Thank you so much for all the excellent arrangements that you put in hand for me ....faultless. The itinerary, accommodation, food all perfect. All three of my guides were lovely very knowledgeable, kind, sensitive and considerate. Sending you a few photos from Bagan - the air balloon trip was a real high spot.

Tin Tin went above and beyond to ensure I did everything I wanted to, and I really enjoyed myself. "
- Jan W. (Myanmar, January 2017)

" We have just finished our tour of the golden triangle organised through your company and it was amazing. The tours were well organised and professional. We were well taken care of and everything well explained. In Agra, Moorkesh was an exceptionally passionate and articulate guide. We couldn't help but share in his love of the city of Agra. I am sure we were very lucky to have him as he must be very much in demand. He was especially kind in adapting his tours as both my mum and myself were ill on seperate days. He made sure we both saw the Taj and we had a perfect day.

The person who deserves the highest praise is our driver Raj. He was with us for the week and he was brilliant. He could not have done enough for us, making sure we had our favourite drinks in the car and letting restaurant staff know we preferred a la carter to buffet. He was alwYs kind and professional and very trustworthy. He alwAys made sure we had everything we needed and were enjoying all the activities. He wAs particularly kind when my mum was very unwell on the long drive from Agra to Jaipur. He went above and beyond for us every day. And his driving skills are second to none!! We were in awe of the way he navigated the crazy Delhi traffic with ease and made us feel safe even as car, trucks and rickshaws seem to be heading straight at us.

Thank you again for a wonderful trip.
- Mrs Gemma B (India, January 2017)

" We would like to say what a wonderful trip we had recently to West Bengal and Sikkim. We enjoyed it very much indeed.

We had a very good trekking experience and our guide and porter looked after us really well, always aware of our safety and well being. Our guide always saw to our food and beverages which were of a very good standard considering that conditions at the higher levels were somewhat spartan. He even made sure we got hot water bottles at night which were much appreciated. When we finished our trek we were pleased to be entertained at the home of the area manager and to be given lunch there. There was just one unfortunate incident involving facilities at one of the lodges which were not as arranged. This was reported to Classic Expeditions who will no doubt have reported the matter to you. This in no way spoiled our trek but was irritating at the time. We were very pleased to have managed what was essentially a strenuous journey.

Our other guide, from Darjeeling, Adarsh Gurung, was a gem. He went out of his way to look after us and once he realised our interests he took trouble to sort out things we would like. As a result we experienced many religious ceremonies at a number of monasteries. At the one in Lava towards the end of the trip we were fortunate to sit in on the birthday celebrations of the sect's spiritual head. After this we were given food and Tibetan tea by the monks, Adarsh told us we were very priviledged to have had such an experience. He also spent time escorting us around the bazaar areas of Darjeeling and Kalimpong showing us shops that we were interested in.

The roads in Sikkim were very rough and we were glad of the skills of our excellent driver, Bijay Rasaily. He was very aware of our safety and comfort and always drove accordingly. We were so impressed by these two people that if we were to visit the area again we would ask for their services again.

The hotels were very good and we were particularly impressed with those of the Elgin group, they had a high standard of service, accomodation and food.

The services on the trip were generally of a high standard and your Indian agents were very attentive. One of their executives made a point of speaking to me on the phone on two occasions to see that everything was going well and according to plan.

Many thanks for a great trip. "
- Derek and Jean R (India, December 2016)

Having travelled extensively through the Far East and India, (mainly with Dragon Travel), we decided this time to take a private tour to India. We are a well travelled couple and were accompanied on this trip by our friend, on her 11th trip to India!

We researched and proposed a bespoke itinerary for a visit to north western and central India, focussing on an eclectic mix of culture, travel through diverse countryside, bird-watching and wildlife spotting. We left the finer details up to Ki and eagerly awaited his suggestions. As ever, we were not disappointed. With advice from Ki, we honed our original ideas, and agreed a tailor-made tour with the inclusion of three nights at a Yoga retreat, (recommended by The Sunday Times some years ago, and ‘sold’ to us by the bird watching information on the Yoga retreat’s website)!

Despite the ‘loss’ by Emirates Airlines and subsequent late arrival of one of our bags, very dangerous levels of pollution in Delhi (reinforced by dire warnings in the local Indian press of over 100 x acceptable limits), and the unexpected Indian currency crisis (no warning - 100 and 500 rupee notes declared obsolete), we had an absolutely fantastic trip.

Our itinerary took in a couple of overnight stays in Delhi, followed by a mix of road, air and train travel to Chandigarh the capital of Haryana and Punjab, Shimla, Dharamsala and Amritsar in Himachal Pradesh  and Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh. We experienced walks guided by Naturalists in the foothills of the Shavalik Mountains, the Shimla Water Catchment Wildlife Sanctuary, and three safaris in the Kanha National Park. We saw over 90 different species of birds, many of them new ‘sightings’ for our avid bird watching companion Hilary! During our three day stay at the Basunti Yoga Retreat we were lucky enough to be the only visitors. The English owner gave us the benefit of his knowledge and expertise, identifying the myriad of bird and animal life regularly visiting his beautiful gardens. Our stay in this amazing place was a truly chilled out interlude in the midst of our very busy itinerary. We suggest that anyone looking for a ‘back to nature’ experience in India would be well advised to consider staying at Basunti. (The organically grown, home cooked vegetarian food is also superb!).

In Chandigarh we were guided around the fascinating Rock Garden, an exquisite artwork made from industrial and urban waste; in Shimla (after a taste of the Toy Train journey!), we were accompanied on the Heritage Trail walk by the very knowledgeable author of several books on the British presence in Shimla; in Amritsar we were lucky enough to be guided by the only female tour guide licensed to take visitors to both the Golden Temple and the flag down ceremony at Wagah on the Pakistan border. The quality of the guides was superb, their English easy to understand and their knowledge of the respective ‘sights’ was exemplary.

Our trip to the Kanha National Park involved a flight, followed by a five hour ‘road’ journey. The ‘road’ (aka track) was narrow, crowded, potholed, but the experience never- the- less extremely interesting. We passed through many differing agricultural areas - livestock farming, rice growing paddies, fields of vegetable and salad crops and vineyards growing both grape and betel vines! The style of housing changed, much of it involving a type of ‘wattle and daub’ construction and colourful shades of exterior paint. Our itinerary at the Kanha Wildlife Park involved one early morning, one afternoon and one early evening safari. The drivers and guides were equally knowledgeable, one underpinning, (and adding to), the information supplied by the other. Not only did we see many different birds and mammals and the more common Barking, Spotted and Sambhar Deer, but we were lucky enough to spot several of the endangered Barasingha Deer too. However, the icing on the cake was the sighting of THREE DIFFERENT TIGERS! One large male walked within touching distance of our vehicle and my husband and friend managed to take some truly awesome photos of this gentle giant. On our return to our accommodation (The Tuli Tiger Resort) we were told that seeing three tigers was a sign of exceptional good luck. Suffice to say that our journey ended well on this high and we travelled safely back to the UK, marvelling at the sheer variety and interest our trip had evoked.

The only question remaining is – when, (and to where), will we next make another Dragon Travel trip?!

Dragon Travel's partners in India offered first class service; the attention to detail, personal communication by the two Directors, and services of the personal guide they appointed, could not have been bettered. They all helped to make this trip truly memorable.

- Ron and Ann R. (India, November 2016)

" Third time with Dragon and another fantastic holiday, both guide and driver went out of their way to accommodate our needs to experience the culture and take lots of photographs. Road conditions between Punakha and Bumthang were dire, with mud and landslides. Bhaktey went above and beyond his duty to ensure our comfort and safety, moving traffic and arranging a homestay when we could not use the road. Our driver did a superb job of driving and keeping us safe despite the conditions."
- Mr Sandy B.(Bhutan October 2016)

" All the hotels were very good standard and the attention given from staff and guides was excellent. Tours were informative and interesting and well worth seeing....Overall the holiday was excellent and sights and smells were amazing. A future trip is a must."
- Mr Andrew F.(India, October 2016)

" As usual your company has provided excellent service, and we look forward to going away 'with you' again in February to Kerala, thank you."
- Ruth T.(Malaysia October 2016)

" We immensely enjoyed our stay.
I would kindly ask you to thank Wu who has given his time and done so much for us during the trip. He is an excellent guide and made our journey unforgettable.
I would like also to thank you for all the arrangements that you have made to organize this wonderful journey, they were all magnificent. I will definitely recommend you and your team to all our friends for their future trips to Vietnam . I hope that we will have the chance to return one day to this wonderful country. Thank you once again."
- Dr Gordana M. (Vietnam, September 2016)

" Thank you so much for all the arrangements you put in hand for me on my recent visit to India (Golden Triangle). I had a truly wonderful time. Sandeep and Raj (my driver) were so efficient and kind as were my guides. Unfortunately, the Hot Air Balloon Trip did not happen, it had to be cancelled at the last minute due to weather conditions. Other than that things could not have gone better.I enjoyed all the hotels and the whole magical mystical colourful experience. Do hope I can go again one day.
Thanks again and warm regards"
- Jan W.(India April 2016)

" Many thanks for giving us a lovely trip. All the flights went well, the guides and drivers were excellent and we very much enjoyed ourselves. We were upgraded foc at the Astor and in Gongtek and all the hotels were excellent.... We were in Kolkota on the Saturday and Sunday which was brilliant for sightseeing as there was less traffic."
- Jan W.(India March 2016)

" Thank you for arranging such an amazing group trip to Myanmar; it was truly a holiday of a lifetime! All the arrangements went without a hitch (until our flight home, but the problem was entirely out of your control!) and the quality of the accommodation, regional guides and transportation was excellent.
Overall we feel we have had an excellent exposure to the beautiful country of Myanmar, and it has certainly wetted our appetite to visit Asia again very soon; we wouldn’t hesitate to use Dragon Travel again, and will be recommending your holidays to our friends also!"
- Colin B. (Myanmar January/February 2016)

" We all enjoyed our visit to Myanmar from 13th January to 4th February very much. Dragon Travel did an excellent job with the itinerary and the guides and drivers were all very good – helpful, friendly and flexible. We would definitely recommend Dragon Travel to friends wanting to go to Myanmar."
- Elizabeth B.(Myanmar January/February 2016)

" We just wanted to say how much we all enjoyed our recent holiday in Myanmar which you organised for us.
I think its true to say that it exceeded our expectations on all counts. The country and people were wonderful. All the guides provided were well informed and personable. Their local knowledge was good and they were all prepared to be flexible to meet our needs. For example we spent a whole morning in a village on our way to Mt Popa which we all loved - especially the brick works!
The whole trip was very good value for money as breakfast and lunch was included every day as were several dinners. We were amazed at how little money we spent.
So a big thank you from Joan, Nick, Chris David and I, it was a huge success."
- Alison W. (Myanmar January/February 2016)

" We had a fabulous time. The whole trip was well organised. The guides & drivers were helpful, knowledgable and efficient. We felt very spoilt being tken everywhere and so looked after, so that we really flet we got a good understanding of Myanmar...One of our best ever holidays. Thank you!"
-Gareth & Tessa H.(Myanmar February 2016)

" Myanmar is a beautiful fascinating country, a view of how Asia used to be, but it is changing fast.
The most endearing quality of Myanmar is the people, the most friendly and welcoming of any we have met anywhere, so many work so hard and have so little but still give you a big smile and seem happy to see you."
- Derek L.(Myanmar December 2015/January 2016)

" This is the second trip we have done with Dragon Travel, & must say that this really is the only way to see South East Asia. The fact that you are on a private tour with your own guide and driver, which also includes boats etc is simply wonderful. The itinerary is top notch and usually packed, but you can decide not to do some things if you wish. On some trips food is included which makes a big difference on cost. We have found that Dragon Tours are really cost effective when you consider the level of accommodation, the fact that you are on a private tour really spoils you.
We added another 2 days in Bangkok at the end of our trip, and the costs for the 2 days including excursions (rammed full days) was still cheaper than I could do myself (and that included food, transfers, travel, entrance fees etc).
I cannot rate Dragon Travel highly enough. The knowledge of the area & local connections make travelling so easy & worry free, and the standard of accommodation and local guides, drivers etc is top notch."
-David J. (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, November 2015)

" Hi Ki, apologies this has taken so long to write since we got back, but I just wanted to write to say how much we enjoyed the trip you put on for us. Everything we fantastic, from accommodation, the connections, the sights & travel, the guides & drivers. We felt very spoiled and agreed this was the only way to do it.
Our guide in Bangkok - Boonlert or Boon was extra specially good, as we crammed so much into the 2 days we had in Bangkok and he made our time there wonderful... We are making sure we tell everyone who we went with and are recommending you as a travel agent, as both trips we have done now have been excellent."
- David J (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, November 2015)

" This is just a note to thank Dragon Travel once again for a truly superb 15 day holiday to Bhutan and Bangladesh, the scenery in Bhutan was just stunning and breathtaking and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there, the hotels as per usual were excellent and our guide and driver in Bhutan made every special effort to ensure that we saw the very best of this beautiful country, they were both kind, considerate, compassionate people who represented the very best of Bhutan and they did us proud.
The second part of our journey was a week in Bangladesh, the hotels were again superb and outstanding bordering on the luxurious, our guide and driver in Bangladesh were simply fantastic and we both felt that they both went that extra mile to accommodate us, nothing was too much trouble. The tour itself was great in many aspects with the highlight being a train journey between Dhaka and Sylhet, we saw the Bangladeshi people at their very finest---warm, smiling, friendly, kind, welcoming, happy, gracious people and we made many friends along the way, they are a true credit to themselves and to Bangladesh and I found their welcoming kindness to be very humbling.
The whole journey was a delight from beginning to end with organisation, hotels, transportation and airlines absolutely spot on, this is our third journey with Dragon Travel and I must pay credit to both Ki and to Rob for once again putting a superb holiday together to two wonderful countries, we will be travelling again with Dragon Travel in the not too distant future and my very grateful and sincere thanks to all at Dragon Travel for a brilliant holiday yet again."
-Julian and Yolanda M. (Bhutan and Bangadesh, December 2015)

" My husband and I have just returned from a superb trip to Myanmar which was arranged by Dragon Travel.
We chose Dragon Travel from the internet because we wanted to travel independently without being part of a group tour. We really felt that the company was professional and trustworthy and could arrange a trip which would be ideal for us.How right we were!
Once we had decided where we were going and when, we were able to leave it to Rob and Ki to link the flights with all the other arrangements in Myanmar and then give us a full itinerary. We also had plenty of helpful advise and help with obtaining visas. Our international flights were with Singapore airlines from Manchester and Rob had suggested that we book onto a free tour of Singapore to make use of our stop over time…..so that was a good start to the trip.
We arrived in Yangon just about on schedule. We had 4 internal flights as part of our tour and despite small quirky airports and one delayed flight they all worked fine.
We were met at various stages along the way by a guide and driver who all did their best to make sure that we had the best possible experience of their particular area. They were well informed and very courteous, always with a ready supply of bottled water and wipes for “ temple feet”. The cars were comfortable and always well driven by competent, careful drivers.
All the accommodation was superb: in particular, the room at the Mandalay City Hotel, the bungalow at the Hupin at Inle Lake which was a new one, was amazing. But we were more than happy with the other hotels as well. The two night boat trip to Mandalay was on the Yandabo a four cabin boat on which only two were occupied. So we were treated like minor royalty as the number of crew far out numbered the four passengers. The food was a problem though there was so much of it but it was very good and we tried very hard to do it justice. In general we did find that having had a decent breakfast we would have been happy with a light lunch when an evening meal had been arranged for us. But having said that, we did enjoy the food in the restaurants and hotels and the standard was very good.
We particularly enjoyed Bagan, the boat trip from Bagan to Mandalay, the walk at Kalaw, Inle Lake and Ngapali beach. But I think it is true to say that we enjoyed every moment of the three weeks we spent in Myanmar and we now have lots of memories which will be kept alive by the hundreds of photos we have taken.
Thank you very much Dragon Travel for a wonderful trip."

" Dear Ki and Rob
A note to let you know that we had a brilliant holiday.
Given the two weeks available, the itinerary provided an interesting insight into the culture, people and history that we thoroughly enjoyed. The country is beautiful and the food was great. Travel arrangements and hotels were excellent. Our guides, Hung, Vu and Lee were great company, helpful, knowledgeable and professional. Please would you pass on our thanks to them as they really helped to make the holiday special. Finally the drivers were very good and safe.
So thanks very much for arranging the holiday for us.
-Mike and Nicki E. (Vietnam November 2015)

" Have just returned from our trip to Myanmar and felt I had to let you know how special it was. In addition to the joy and interest in seeing such a beautiful place, and the warmth of the welcome we received, the arrangements, accommodation, transfers and guides were all excellent and I can't tell you how pleased we were when anticipating a 5 hour wait at Yangon airport yesterday to find our guide TinTin awaiting us to take us for a meal and a little additional sight seeing. We had been dreading that long wait. Please pass on our thanks to the guides who without exception really looked after us.
The only feedback I can give apart from exceptional praise is that considering the aspirations of the hotel in Mandalay, and what we ate in the other hotels, the food was mediocre, although the staff were as always really helpful and courteous, similarly the 2nd lunchtime riverside restaurant in Bagan. Both of these we fed back to our respective guides. We are eagerly looking forward to another expedition.Best wishes"

" Dear Ki and Rob
A very big thank you from Anne, Cedric and Maggie for the beautiful flowers and cake you gave us to celebrate both Maggie's birthday and our special wedding anniversary. We have had a wonderful time in Bangkok with my family and are now about to leave for Laos which we are looking forward to.
Thank you again for your kindness.
Kind regards "
-Anne Cedric and Maggie (Thailand & Laos October, 2015)

" Thank you for your courteous service with our representative from your company, who offered informative, helpful service and gave good knowledge on our site visits to places of interest.
We enjoyed the itinerary which was very diverse and delightful places were visited every day. The food offered was of good quality and plentiful.
Soe went out of his way to make our stay a pleasant experience, We will visit again in the future and would be pleased to use your agency again. Many thanks."
- Cynthia and Mike R (Myanmar October 2015)

" Mr Bunthinh was very knowledgable and he showed me things I would not have seen on my own. He is a very nice man, Our driver was very nice too and a very safe driver. I would recommend to everyone."
- Mr Brian W. (Cambodia September, 2015)

" Another wonderful visit to Myanmar, combining new sights and experiences as well as returning to our well-loved destinations such as The Bayview. Stunning scenery, friendly people. Tintin has been delightful - practical, knowledgable and becoming a real friend. We are sorry to leave again. Thank you for arranging everything , it was lovely to see Myoe Thant again from last year. We can't think of anything that could be improved."
- David and Virginia A. (Myanmar February-March 2015)

" Wow.... 24 days in Laos.... what a fantastic adventure you gave us! We went having no idea how beautiful Laos is and we could never have imagined how much your itinerary would enable us to learn, see and do. In the north our guide Son and our our driver made an awesome partnership and they treated us like royalty throughout the eighteen days we spent with them.

Son is the best guide we have ever come across and always went that extra mile for us. When we went down the Nam Ou River he suggested we ate lunch as we went rather than before boarding our boat. We thought we would be eating as we traveled but he then surprised us by pulling into a sandy bank where he set out a large rush mat on which he put a little rattan table and two tiny stools before laying out lunch for us. No one can have had a picnic in a more idyllic setting! Wherever there was something extra that could be added into the itinerary Son added it, for example before visiting the Plain of Jars he took us off road to search for the War Spoon Village which he had had just heard about - just anther 'little adventure!'. Bearing my allergy to onions in mind Son was always careful to ensure all food ordered was prepared onion-free and in the more remote areas he even went into the wayside kitchens Noy and cooked meals for us himself in case my allergy had not been understood.

After the wonderful time in the rural north we did wonder whether our trip in southern Laos might prove something of an anticlimax. Thanks to your full programme and our guide Ms Saen Sayaphone (Mook) it did not disappoint. Having grown up on one of the 'Four Thousand Islands' she had a wealth of local knowledge and like Son went out of her way to ensure we did and experienced as much as possible.

We were very pleased that you were able to modify your own itinerary to accommodate our request to visit the Nam Nern Night Safari and the Secret War Caves at Vieng Xay. Spotting wild life as we drifted down the Nam Nern River in the silver silence of a full moon and wandering through caves where you felt that you could almost see the ghostly figures of the 20000 villagers forced to hide in the caves were unforgettable experiences. Although these visits are not for the faint hearted we would thoroughly recommend visiting both - their remote location takes you to another world, you are solitary visitors and leave tourism behind you.

It has been difficult to single out highlights to mention on this trip as just when we thought nothing could surpass a particular experience something completely different on another day rivaled it. However, we must mention our forest trek at Luang Namtha as it was AMAZING. It was inspired planning to include and arrange a trek like this at the beginning of our trip as from then on we were able to really appreciate how the ethnic minorities lived. Our six am visit to the local food market with Son and Han (a National Parks guide) showed us the sort of food they ate while the trek gave an insight into how they foraged and hunted for it. Actually having a young village tracker join us and point out the traps his villagers had set to catch the small mammals they ate and seeing the three guides foraging and collecting all manner of edible roots, fungi, leaves and fruit as we went was fascinating. We were then mesmerized watching them use their machete skills as they gutted, stuffed and secured freshly caught fish onto split bamboo canes. chopped and wrapped other foraged foods in banana leaves before cooking them over an open fire. Without seeing it we could never have imagined that people were able to sustain themselves in this way. The magnificent hot banquet from the forest we were presented with for our 'picnic lunch' then enabled us to realise just how delicious and sustaining foods like baked bamboo shoots and rattan and steamed river weed are.

Talking to other travelers we met made us realise that, to see is one thing but to experience something takes your understanding of a country and it's culture to another level. What we saw and did on this trip has surpassed all our expectations and we thank you for a wonderful holiday."

- Susan and Michael W. (Laos, February 2015)

" Visiting Laos was a long-awaited trip for us and we are very thankful we chose Dragon Travel. The combination of your local knowledge and first-hand experience along with attention to detail and responsiveness, whether by email or phone, when we were planning the trip, resulted in a fantastic journey that exceeded our expectations every step of the way.
Based on our interests you guided us towards selecting the 18 day Rural Laos Tour and then helped us modify the tour to fit the time we had available by replacing 3 days in the suggested itinerary with 3 nights in Siem Riep, Cambodia. From the moment we arrived in Vientiane to our departure from Siem Riep, all practicalities of accommodation and transport were seamlessly handled leaving us free and relaxed to enjoy our journey.
Our trip had a good balance of time spent with knowledgeable guides with periods of leisure for personal discovery. We got to stay in some wonderfully varied, interesting and at times quite luxurious accommodation.
We must commend the quality of our guides and drivers, not just for their local knowledge but also for their efforts to accommodate what particularly interested us. We were particularly sad to say goodbye to Dao, who accompanied us from Luang Namtha to Luang Prabang. Thank you Dragon Travel for wonderful memories – we will recommend you and hopefully travel with you again."
- Mrs Penny S. and Ms. Christina L. (Laos & Cambodia November 2014)

" Just to say a big thank you to you for all the effort you put in for me in making our 50th year of marriage more special. Not only did the Asia do something for us both hotels in Cambodia did and also one in Laos (photographs attached). We had a wonderful holiday."
- Mrs Joan C. (Cambodia, Laos & Thailand, January-February 2015)

"Dear Ki....

" We had a fantastic holiday! We saw so much. Although some days were quite hectic we also had space to relax and do our own thing.
The hotel at Phonsavan was adequate, as expected; all the other accommodation was luxurious or nicely quirky. All the guides and drivers had excellent local knowledge and communicated well. The majority enthused about their country and went out of their way to ensure that we experienced local life and tasted local cuisine - including unfamiliar fruits etc. - all of which we enjoyed.
Thank you for a superb trip. We are recommending Dragon Travel to all our friends.
- Mr and Mrs D.B. (Cambodia & Laos, January 2015)

" Once again we have thoroughly enjoyed our trip, all organisation and practicalities worked well and as usual we would highly recommend Dragon Travel. Our guide, Boon, was very attentive, keen for us to experience everything and good company. He seemed occasionally to lack detailed information on some of the sights but any short comings were compensated by his thoughtfulness. He was prepared to put in additional sites and constantly found different foods for us to taste!
..Our trip was very special and enjoyable...and we look forward to our next Dragon Travel adventure."
- Mr and Mrs A.S. (Thailand, January 2015)

" Fantastic, knowledgable guide! Humorous, informative - with a lot of detail and history linking different historical events to explain stories we will remember!
Attentive to our needs and asks - appreciated that restaurant choices were adapted to accommodate vegetarian menus without necessarily being Indian cuisine.
Overall very satisfied and extremely happy with the Central Vietnam trip.Duy changed the itinerary to make the most of our time hereand I'm so glad we followed his sound advice. We will be back! "
- Family Shah, (Vietnam, December 2014)

" Have just returned from Oct/Nov 3 week trip to Myanmar. Would like to say how impressed we were with how everything was organised for us. From the moment our guide met us in Yangon everything went like clockwork. We were looked after really well by the various guides we met as we moved around the country. Our hotels were good as were the many local restaurants we ate at. The river trip was amazing with a really pleasant crew who went out of their way to accommodate us. We opted for a trek from Kalaw to Inle Lake and this was for us the highlight of our trip. We walked for three days through splendid scenery and interesting tribal villages, it gave us an insight into life outside the ordinary tourist sights. Not to say that Myanmar is in any way ordinary it is a truly amazing place! Our tour guide even came with us as well as the trekking guide.
We have travelled extensively but this was our first try at a guided, organised tour, can only say how nice it was to arrive in Yangon after travelling for some 20+ hours to be met by a smiling guide and led to an air conditioned vehicle then to our hotel. Instead of having to sort ourselves out and haggle with taxi drivers. Will recommend Dragon Travel, well done. "
- Mr and Mrs D.R. (Myanmar, November 2014)

" Once again we must congratulate Dragon Travel for an excellent trip this time to Sri Lanka. The itinerary gave us an insight to the history, culture and everyday life of the country in a well ordered way. We really enjoyed our time on Safari where the bird life was truly amazing but special mention needs to be made of our guides, Roshan our main guide and Ajantha the safari guide.
Roshan really brought to life the many aspects of Sri Lanka in away that truly reflected the warm welcome we received from the Sri Lankan people in general. Nothing was ever to much trouble, we felt right from our first meeting with him at the airport, extremely comfortable in his presence and as you spend so much time in the company of a relative stranger that is so important. Our guide Ajantha on Safari was marvellous, some truly memorable wildlife encounters. Because of the rapport we established with him and the driver we actually spent twice as longon safari as would normally be the case. Very impressed. ...We will be in touch with regards Burma and Loas in the near future. "
- Peter S. (Sri Lanka, November 2014)

" Our Burma/Myanmar Holiday was absolutely fantastic. An impressive itinerary, very well organised and guided... For us it was a really interesting and exciting holiday. Very well organised by you, both in the UK with all the information you gave and with your reminders whilst we were away. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dragon to anyone. "
- Margaret and James C. (Myanmar, November 2014)

" Myanmar is a fascinating country to visit, and very unspoiled. The three-week tour was amazing value, and every day was full of interest and discoveries. The hotels were all excellent and the accommodation first class, with beautiful views especially at Bagan and Ngapali Beach; the exception was at Kalaw, but that had its own charm being an old British hill station. The restaurants were uniformly good, with the exception of the Seven Sisters at Kalaw. I liked the beauties of Old Burma, the golden pagodas, the many temples of Bagan, all the statues of Buddha, watching sunsets in historic locations; also the visits to villages and shops to see crafts performed in traditional ways, lacquer-making, gold and silver smiths, silk weavers and stone carvers; and seeing the monks perform their devotions at the monasteries. The two-day cruise in our private boat down the River Irrawaddy was wonderful, as was our three-day stay on Inle Lake, visiting floating gardens and fishing villages by boat. Ngapali was a superb beach and a lovely hotel, but was spoiled for us by a typhoon (which could not have been anticipated). My personal best experience was walking down through the jungle from Kalaw to the elephant camp, and swimming in the river with a baby elephant. Unforgettable!
Our local guides were all good, informative and very helpful. Our second guide, at Bagan, was hard to follow as he spoke rather indistinctly and too fast. Josef at Mandalay was exceptionally good. All our internal flights were trouble-free and well organised.
Our group of 10 was a nice size, and we became good friends over the three weeks. I can thoroughly recommend this tour as a perfect way to explore the beautiful country of Burma.
Thank you for organising a wonderful holiday."
- Gillian W. (Myanmar Small Group Tour, November 2014)

" We have just returned from Oct/Nov 3 week trip to Myanmar. Would like to say that from the minute we landed at Yangon everything went like clockwork. We were really impressed with how our trip was organised from start to finish. Our guides were very attentive and looked after us extremely well as we moved around the country. The hotels were very good as were the many local restaurants we ate at. The river trip was amazing and our crew were splendid going out of their way to be helpful. We opted for a trek from Kalaw to Inle Lake and this was a highlight of our trip. We walked for 3 days through splendid scenery and fascinating tribal villages. This gave us an insight into Myanmar life outside of the ordinary tourist attractions. That is not to say that Myanmar is ordinary, it is a truly amazing country. We were pleasantly surprised that our tour guide came with us on the trek in addition to the regular trekking guide, he wanted to ensure that we were looked after!
We have travelled extensively in the East and this was the first time we had taken an organised, guided tour. We must say how nice it was to be met at Yangon after some 20+ hours of travel by a smiling guide, taken to an air conditioned vehicle and on to our hotel. Instead of having to do our own thing and haggle with taxi drivers.
We will recommend Dragon Travel, well done."
- Derek & Jean R. (Myanmar, November 2014)

" ...As always, you have given a first class service. As you know from the correspondence, we always have a lot of questions, requests and changes. You invariably deal with these in an exemplary manner and we would have no hesitation on travelling with you again next time we visit South East Asia. Some friends of ours are thinking about Cambodia and Laos next year and we will be pointing them in your direction...our future plans include Vietnam and another trip to Cambodia.

Overall, we were pleased with the choice of hotels, with our favourites being the two Thande hotels at Bagan and Ngapali. We weren't too keen on the Summit Parkview in Yangon (would have preferred to be more central, but that was our choice)...

In summary, it was another excellent trip and, as I said earlier, we would not hesitate to use you for a fourth time and to recommend you to others."
- Mr Jake E. (Myanmar, November 2014)

" We have recently returned from our three week trip of Myanmar...From the moment we contacted you, the company has been incredibly professional and able to answer every question posed. It is refreshing in these days to receive confirmation of all bookings both on line and in the post – saving us the trouble, and indeed costs, of printing everything off. We thought the holiday was excellent value – considering all the flights, hotel accommodation, nearly all the meals and the tour guides were included. Furthermore the tour guides did NOT expect any further tip each time which was a welcome position, needless to say they were all so excellent everyone wanted to tip them anyway – this was richly deserved.

For us there were several things about the holiday which made it very special:

- the professionalism of your company
- the expert knowledge of the guides- and their caring attitude -- we did feel well looked after
- the flexibility of the guides to ensure we saw as much as possible – but understanding when some members of the group wanted to rest, so they would change the itinerary to help this but ensure others did not miss out.
- a perfect time to visit weather wise
- a perfect balance of culture, rest and relaxation and understanding the country
- an excellent mixture of travel from viewing temples, river trips, understanding the way of life, the peace of Inle lake, a trek in the jungle to elephants and the rest on the beach, topped off with the city break at the end.
- the people- what a lovely friendly and caring race
- the standard of the service
- the beauty of the country
- excellent food throughout
- endless provision of water

If I had to choose only three things from the itinerary it would be:

- the river trip on the Irrawaddy
- the trek and swimming, washing and feeding the elephants
- Inle lake

A truly memorable and wonderful experience thank you."
- Ruth and Kevin (Myanmar Small Group Tour, November 2014)

" The holiday was varied with the first eight days experiencing nature and the wildlife and this was excellent with many lasting memories. The final stage was generally more relaxing and seeing some of the city sights, but generally unwinding after an amazing insight into the rainforest."
- Mr Andrew F.(Borneo, October 2014)

" We are now back from our travels and wanted to let you know what a fantastic time we had in Vietnam and thank you for organising our trip. The itinerary was excellent, as were our accommodation and guides. We loved the landscape, the people and the food (and the mopeds!). Hanoi was our favourite city. The Cu Chi tunnels were a particular highlight of the trip (although there were many) - I managed to go in them.

Accommodation wise, we got upgraded in almost every hotel we stayed which was great - at the Banyan Tree that meant we got a beach villa which was stunning. "
- Ms Mary H.(Vietnam, March 2014)

" I'd like to thank you for arranging our holiday to Vietnam. Everything ran smoothly and the holiday far exceeded our expectations. "
- Mr Ray H.(Vietnam, March 2014)

" Altogether, this was one of the most enjoyable and exciting trips which George and I have ever made and we felt that this was a combination of the fascination of Myanmar and the quite exceptionally good organisation that was put into it in the UK and in Myanmar... all four of our guides were excellent. Thank you, everyone. "
- Wendy S.(for George and Wendy).(Myanmar, March 2014)

" We have just returned after a most wonderful holiday in Myanmar for which we have to thank you both.
Hopefully without sounding too cliche-ed we had absolutely excellent guides and drivers - kind, helpful. knowledgeable, had the best tables or views, lovely rooms and food and not long enough. It never is. So according to my wife, what was going to be our final, final, last long haul holiday isn't.
Thank-you once again"
- Marie & Darek S. (Myanmar, March 2014)

" We would just like to thank you for organising such a wonderful holiday for us. Everything went really well, all the guides were so friendly and had so much knowledge about their area and the drivers were also very good it just made everything flow. All the hotels were very good although it might be worth letting people know that there is a local tax of 10% on lake Inle and the hotel puts another 10% on everything for service. The whole holiday has made us feel we must go back some time."
- Terry & Barbara C.(Myanmar, February 2014)

" And would we go back again? To see such glorious sights, spectacular scenery, enjoy such diverse experiences and meet such kind people. Where else would you be invited to join a village you are passing on the road where they are celebrating the initiation of 40 boys and girls into the monastery, and introduced to the head monk. There's loud music blaring out, piles of food and gifts outside and inside a colourful mass of families with their children dressed as princes and princesses for a day of festivity before they are presented to the monastery and receive their monastic robes and have their heads shaved the following day. Or wander along a beautiful beach looking at the intricate shapes in the sand thrown up by tiny crabs? Each photo recalls a wonderful experience. And as for the huge beetle that scuttled under the bed and appeared beside me in the shower, well we had seen one before, stuffed admittedly in the butterfly museum at the botanical gardens, and it all adds to another story and shared memory!"
- Virginia & David A. (Myanmar, February 2014)

" Just a quick note to thank you for arranging a fabulous holiday for us again. Everything went smoothly. Inle Lake was fascinating and it was lovely to return to the Thande Beach Hotel at Ngapoli. We were met by Tin Tin Aye at Yangon who remembered you both from an earlier visit!"
- Kate & Stephen G.(Myanmar, February 2014)

" Having just returned from the Myanmar holiday you arranged for us we feel that we must write and let you know what a wonderful time we had. At the end of each day we thought that the next could never be as enjoyable as the last but remarkably it was.
In twenty-five years of travelling all over the world we have never experienced such a well balanced itinerary with all the plans executed to perfection. Thank you for bearing with me and accommodating the changes and additions I requested when modifying your standard tour programme. Your cooperation in doing this meant that we were able to see and do the things which really interest us and this further enhanced our trip. As we like to get off the normal tourist route on our travels we were very pleased that we decided to go north and see something of the country beyond Mandalay. We loved Hsipaw and, if the holiday had a high-light, it has to be our boat trip up the Dokhtawaddy River to the Shan Monastery and village and our visit to Haw Sao Pha (Shan Palace) where the remarkable wife of the once imprisoned nephew of the last Shan prince (who was executed by the military) gave us a fascinating talk about recent Shan history while showing us the house...
Once again thank you for arranging a wonderful holiday. We look forward to using your services again soon."
- Susan & Michael W. (Myanmar, February 2014)

" Just a quick note to say fantastic holiday, we enjoyed the whole experience, with the guides and drivers and hotels all fantastic, I do admit to being slightly templed out by the end, but when you see Angkor Wat / Thom etc. in the 1st few days the following temples although still fantastic are still a wee bit anticlimactic. The food was excellent and we also did a cooking experience in Sihanouk Ville, where the head cook also took us round the market on the Saturday morning whilst she was buying for the restaurant where she was cooking in the evenings, a really great experience. We found all the Cambodians we met and chatted to, to be polite and interesting and generally just very nice people. So just to say thank you for putting together a wonderful trip."
- David McQ. (Cambodia February 2014)

" We would like to thank you both for a fantastic 14 days in Cambodia and Laos. Everything ran like clockwork from the pick-ups at the airports to the arrangements with the guides each day. The hotels were brilliant and the Anchor Village in Siem Reap stands out with friendly and thoughtful staff. Also the little extras we were not expecting like the dance show with dinner in Vientiane and the wonderful surprise of being met at Vientiane on our return journey and whisked of to the Green Park Boutique hotel for an afternoon next to the pool rather than having to wait in the airport departure lounge till the evening for our onward flight. Very thoughtful, unexpected but very appreciated.
The guides were very knowledgeable and professional in their approach and we enjoyed a good laugh together with the drivers every now and then.
Thank you again and we would not hesitate to recommend Dragon Travel to prospective customers."
- Jonathan & Rosemary S. (Cambodia and Laos, February 2014)

" We have recently returned from our first holiday to Myanmar and it will certainly will not be our last. The organization from guides, hotels and transportation was first class throughout. We had a wonderful time touring the country with very helpful and experienced guides and drivers. Our final six nights at Ngapali in our beach front apartment was a memorable experience."
- Pam & David H. (Myanmar January 2014)

" It was a great trip which we enjoyed very much and was very professionally handled by you and your agents abroad. The locals in the various countries treated us very well and at no time were we unhappy even when I got us well and truly lost on a cycle trip I conned Rosie into. I bet we saw bits that day rarely seen by westerners - eg cycling through rice paddies and fields with grazing water buffaloes. We cannot praise the whole experience too highly.
Fabulous trip thank you."
- Rosie & Mike T. (Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, January 2014)

" Just a note to thank you very much for yet another superb tour of Vietnam and Cambodia, the hotels, food, itinerary, guides and drivers were all first class and the scenery was just superb, both Yolanda and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had a busy time on the journey. We were given a beautiful upgrade at the Majestic hotel in Saigon and the room was really wonderful, so all in all superb. All our guides and drivers in Vietnam and Cambodia were first class and excellent----they were all a true credit...this is our second tour with yourselves and it has been great."
- Julian & Yolanda M. (Cambodia and Vietnam January 2014)

" Thank you for making our 45th wedding anniversary holiday so memorable. All the guides were so helpful making sure we had the best seats in all restaurants. We feel that we had 1st class treatment throught our holiday. I will recommend your company to others."
- David & Pamela H. (Myanmar January 2014)

" Just a quick email to let you know we had a fabulous time. The tour was really well planned and the guides were all excellent. The hotels were all good (the one in the plain of jar was a bit basic but it was only for one night). The people, especially in Laos, were all very polite (not their custom to shout or lose their temper in public). We certainly felt like we had experienced the two countries culture and history."
- Julie & Michael G. (Cambodia and Laos November 2013)

" Now we are over our jet lag a short note to thank you very much for arranging such a varied and interesting itinerary for our recent trip to Thailand, laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Mike and I cam back very tired but very happy with our exciting travels."
- Lorna & Mike M. (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, November 2013)

" We have recently returned from our tour of Vietnam and Cambodia and just wanted to let you know what was a fantastic experience it was.
The service you provide prior to the trip was excellent, from the detailed pre-tour information pack, flight bookings and the obtaining of Cambodian visa's, we could not have asked for more.
The trip itself was faultless, from the moment we arrived in Hanoi to our departure from Phnom Penn 16 days later. The tour guides at each location were so friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. The vehicles used for touring were good, clean, spacious (4 persons in a 9 seater vehicle), and driven very safely. The hotels surpassed our expectations in all respects. The meals provided as part of the tour were excellent, with regards quality and quantity. The venues also differed considerably, that we always looked forward to the next meal.
It was truly a 5 star tour at a 3 star price, truly remarkable.
We will definately being touring with you again and would highly recommended Dragon Travel."
- Peter & Philomena S., Syd & Gwen C.(Vietnam, November 2013)

" Just a quick mail to say thank you for organising our recent trip to Vietnam and Cambodia, we had a smashing time and were happy with all aspects of the trip. Hotels were all good, some better than others but all acceptable. The itinerary was quite hectic but this did not cause a problem due to the flexibility of the various tour guides, one of the many outstanding things about the trip was the travel guides what lovely people they are nothing was too much trouble. Once again thank you."
- Peter L. (Cambodia and Vietnam, November 2013)

" It is now three weeks since we returned from our Bhutan holiday and we wanted to say a big thank you for arranging such an excellent holiday. Our experience was very enjoyable although we did have one concern where we think that you should consider changes. However first the positives. Transport to and from Bhutan via Bangkok went well - Thai Airways even allocated the seats that you had requested! We had an excellent tour guide (Yeshi) and driver (Kezang) who were very helpful and could not do enough for us. It was good to be in a small group - only one other in the party. The country was beautiful, mountains magnificent and Buddhist temples and monuments very impressive. The people were friendly and we felt very safe in our travels in the country. We were pleased that we had booked our holiday to co-incide with the Festival in Bumthang which was colourful and most enjoyable. Whilst in Bumthang the Bhutan Prime Minister spent one night at our hotel and our guide made arrangements, when the other tourists had departed, for us to talk to him which was a real honour - we were even trained how to greet him. Not something that you can offer to other travellers of course! Thank you again for arranging an enjoyable and interesting holiday."
- Roger & Hilary B. (Bhutan, October 2013)

" Hello Ki, we've returned from Myanmar, and I just wanted to write and tell you what a fabulous trip we had. Everything was more or less spot on in terms of organisation. The country itself is just amazing, so friendly and diverse (and hot). The hotel choices were great, and we've all come back buzzing. The guides were good, and especially the drivers, they got us in front of any tour groups, and got us where we needed to be on time, even the panicked drive across Yangon to make the afternoon tea booking at the Strand.
All the guides were really good and helpful, and we loved the way we could change the itinerary if we wanted to. parrticularly Mandalay and Bagan where we got some great sunsets.
We are now looking at what out next trip to the Far East will be, probably Cambodia and Vietnam, but it will definitely be with you.
Thanks for all your help with our booking, and we look forward to travelling with you again soon."
- David J.(Myanmar, November 2013)

" Just to let you know that we throughly enjoyed our Burma trip! The hotels were absolutely fine, even luxurious in some cases, and all were extremely comfortable and well-appointed. We felt that the itinerary was well thought out and worked like clockwork. All the guides were polite and more than willing to please but one or two were perhaps let down by their (English) language skills (given Myanmar's recent history this perhaps not altogether surprising). All in all Dragon Travel and their extended family did an excellent job and we'd have no hesitation in recommending this trip to others.
Thanks once again & kind regards"
- John & Gail A.(Myanmar, November 2013)

" We have had a wonderful holiday. All your arrangements have worked perfectly; a couple of small changes to domestic flights have been dealt with locally, and the organisation has been excellent. All our 6 guides have been most helpful and informative; we have learned so much from them about the three countries we have visited.
Thank you very much indeed for arranging this wonderful trip."
- Hugh and Penny F. & (Myanmar, October 2013)

" We had the most AMAZING time! It was absolutely wonderful, o.k. tiring and could have done with a week on the beach at the end to recover, but we saw and experienced so much. The trips were well thought out, the guides top class – especially Kenneth and John, not that there was anything wrong with Fred or Jo Jo at all and including Brunei as part of the trip was really good as the river and canopy trip was a fantastic day out. It was also good to see the cultural difference.

We are promoting your trips at every opportunity and are now saving for the next one!

Thank you so much for a high quality package."
- Gill and Mick B. (Borneo, October 2013)

" Fred has been an excellent guide, he is very professional and extremely knowledgable. He has been very punctual - always waiting for us! He and Terence (our driver) made a great team. (Kota Kinabalu)...We could not have hoped for a better guide. Ken was very helpful from start to finish and we enjoyed our time with him very much.(Sandakan)"
- Julie H. & David G.(Borneo, October 2013)

" Just a note to say how much I enjoyed the week in Myanmar which you kindly arranged for me - the guides and the hotels were excellent (and of course the place is spectacular). Many thanks for your trouble in setting it up and for enabling the transfers to work so smoothly."
- Patrick C. (Myanmar, October 2013)

" Thank you for planning a wonderful trip...even though it was the rainy season, we rarely encountered wet weather except our first days in Yangon. The weather was accommodating enough to rain mainly at night. Our highlights were definitely Inle Lake and Bagan. Inle Lake is nothing like any place else we have visited around the world. Due to the fact that it was the rainy season, tourism was at a low and there were times that we were the only ones at the temples and other sites. In Bagan, we climbed to the top of a temple which gave us a 360 degree view of the thousands of temples and there was nobody there but us.
Our hotels were lovely and were exactly what I wanted… comfortable, small with a feeling of Asia. We were the only guests in our hotel in Laos which meant that Shelly and Phil had the pool all to themselves. The only exceptions to that were Trader's in Yangon and Amantara in Bangkok. The 5* luxury of these were a good way to start and to finish the trip. Our guides were accommodating, pleasant, informative and always helpful. They all took good care of us but a special commendation must go to John in Mandalay and Thonglien in Luang Prabang. It turned out that we had had the good fortunate of having Thonglien as a guide 8 years ago when we traveled with our oldest grandson, Jesse. He was as charming and wonderful this trip as he had been all those years ago.
I think Myanmar is just fabulous and interesting and authentic. Laos is just the way it was 8 years ago with maybe a few more tourists but also wonderful. North Thailand is too commercial. The hill tribes are just a shopping area and a lot of our time was spent in a van without seat belts. However. our grandson, Philip, did really enjoy the elephant experience. It was worth going to Chang Rai for the Mekong River trip.
Please be sure to use us for references as we think you did a splendid job. "

" Just returned from Myanmar. Could not fault any aspect of holiday.the guides were great the hotels very good the tours excellent.would not hesitate to recommend your company to anybody traveling to Asia. The people of Myanmar are friendliest, kindest ,smileiest people we have come across on our many travels. I hope when tourism takes off here it does not change them. Once again many thanks for great holiday and traveling to Asia again you will be our first port of call."
- Roy and Kathleen S. (Myanmar, August 2013)

" We have just returned from an excellent holiday in Vietnam and Cambodia. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and felt we got a real flavour of the two countries. Everything worked extremely smoothly - with the exception of one cancelled flight, which was obviously beyond Dragon Travel’s control. We were always met by very competent guides and good drivers who made our trip very comfortable...
Thank you for all your organisation. We would certainly recommend Dragon Travel to any of our friends."
- Malcolm & Margaret J.(Vietnam and Cambodia, April 2013)

" I have just returned from the most amazing holiday of my life.
It was wonderful it was everything I had expected and more.
Your company looked after us so well the hotels were delightful the guides were very passionate about their country and helpful in every way.
The tour was very well designed and I felt we visited as much as was possible to see in 14 days.
My daughter and I would recommend your company to anyone hopefully we will travel with you again."
- Jill B. and Gemma B. (Vietnam, April 2013)

" Hello Ki, now we have had a week at home and the effects of the jet lag have worn off, we thought we would just like to write to you to thank your company for providing us with most probably the best holiday we have ever had (and we have had some really good holidays). If we could go into a bit of detail with you in those situations we thought were outstanding, and in our opinion should not be changed hopefully this will give you an indication of how much we enjoyed our experience. The accommodation generally was excellent but the accommodation at Ngapali had to be seen to be believed, from arriving at Thandwe airport through the whole of the 5 days at the resort it would be extreemly difficult to dream of anything that could improve our enjoyment. The accommodation was immaculate and almost unbelievable, the service, help and friendliness of the staff was just perfect (One of the group had a birthday whilst we were at this resort, and without asking the hotel provided a birthday cake a beautifully laden flower arrangement on our table and sang happy birthday as they presented the cake) Just to think that we might have missed this part of the journey. Having said this about the accommodation at Ngapali the hotels and service at all the hotels was good, but Ngapali was exceptional.
What could be said about the Hotels can also be said about the Guides we had during the holiday. They were all very good very supportive and helpful, keen to impart their extensive knowledge but also very aware about our capacity not only to absorb the information but also to maintain the schedule, they were very helpful if we wanted to do something different or extra. However one of the guides was exceptional, John from Mandalay provided not only everything we could have wanted but also understood our needs and was able to adapt the schedule to match the requirements of the group, everywhere we went in Myanmar was just an exceptional experience, but John at Mandalay provided that extra care and consideration to make Mandalay so special for us.
The balance of the holiday (one of group insisted it was not a holiday but a 'Cultural Experience' and was probably correct) was just about perfect. Starting in Yangon and spending time in the Capital city then to Bagan, a completely different but fascinating experience. The three days on the river was so interesting meeting the families in the two villages along the Irrawaddy, everything about the boat was tremendous. Then Mandalay and a sensational few days, could the standards set so far be matched or improved? Yes of course! Inle lake was like nothing else we had seen, we could have spent the three weeks here but we had to move on to Heho and Kalaw and then to finish at Ngapali and the holiday which had started fantastically had just got better and better and better. One point we should highlight is the Burmese people, what lovely people they are, so welcoming, so friendly, so interesting, so hard working, so obliging and keen to please, and seemingly so content. Undoubtedly they had a major bearing on our enjoyment.
The group of 8 of us jelled very well, only when there was a gastric intervention (and there weren't many nor were they significant) did anyone not join the group at every occasion. 8 is a very good number for this type of tour, we got to know each other and enjoy each others company even though we were a motley collection.
We find it difficult to continue to find the appropriate words, compliments etc to be able to reflect accurately our enjoyment of the three weeks in Myanmar. Perhaps the biggest compliment we could pay the tour was that we just did not want to come home, even after three weeks. People should go to Myanmar soon before the West spoil this beautiful country and these lovely people.Thank you again."
- Joan and John H. (Myanmar Group Tour, March 2013)

" Thank you for our wonderful cultural experience in Myanmar from which we are just about recovered. As per our previous tour to Bhutan with you in 2011, everything was expertly organised and being in a small group of 8 meant that things could be altered/rearranged quite easily. We had been warned by friends that we could get “Templed out” due to the large number of temples, stupas and pagodas available to see throughout the country. By starting in Yangon and then Bagan we were fresh enough to cope with seeing a lot in a short period of time before relaxing into as few as we wished to visit later on. This is the best way to start this kind of tour so that our interest was maintained throughout. Yangon is a vibrant city and the Shwedagon pagoda is magnificent – the city smog tends to diminish the sunset spectacle. Bagan’s numerous temples and pagodas are an inspiring site. You cannot look in any direction without seeing hundreds of them both near and far. The sunsets are brilliant and yet the best one was by the river rather than from the top of a pagoda.
The cruise up the Irrawaddy from Bagan to Mandalay is definitely the way to travel. It’s magical to watch the world slowly float by in comfort whilst having the best food prepared to order brought to your table. We really enjoyed the visits to the local villages by the river. At one, the local children sang to us very enthusiastically – a memory we will never forget. We sang to them, and, as a surprise, demonstrated then taught “The Hokey Cokey”. Unfortunately, or even fortunately due to You Tube, there is no photographic or video evidence of this stupendous event.
At Mandalay we had our best guide of the tour, John. Although all the guides were good and knowledgeable John had the best grasp of our sense of humour and could spot when people were tiring of trying to absorb all the facts about Mandalay. He also arranged a local meal and traditional dance show at our request which proved excellent. He knew all the best positions to see the 1200 monks lining up for lunch at the monastery and the nuns doing the same thing in their nunnery. At times he made it seem as if we were the only tourists there – no mean feat in Mandalay.
The hill top retreat at Kalaw is a very relaxing location. It was good to see the thousands of Buddhas in the cave. We missed the trek through the villages due to a minor upset stomach, but that allowed us to enjoy the hotel’s gardens and vegetable plots – being keen gardeners this proved a blessing in disguise. Inle lake is unique in so many ways. Seeing floating gardens, villages and hotels as well as monasteries, temples and pagodas all from long boats is surreal. The sunrises and sunsets are well worth seeing – everyone ‘s awake for sunrise due to local prayers being broadcast and the sound of motorboats as people begin their working day. The secret is go to bed early and enjoy the spectacle.
Our journey to Ngapali beach suffered an almost 5 hour delay at Heho airport. The only snag throughout the tour. Once we arrived at Ngapali Bay Villas and Spa the wait was more than worthwhile. We have stayed in many magnificent hotels in all parts of the world but we have never stayed in such superb accommodation. Rather than try to describe it, people need to look it up on the internet and/or your website. Not only did we have a sea view, but that section of the beach is private and each villa has it’s own sunbeds and umbrella allocated on the beach – never had that anywhere before. The hotel food is really good and we all dined out one evening at Family Restaurant – their grilled barracuda is fantastic. An excellent choice to relax before starting the long journey home.
Our final stay in Yangon was a relaxing affair with our last morning spent shopping at Bogyoke Market – superb for buying anything you want. With hindsight, it’s probably worth staying an extra day in Yangon for shopping unless at least 2 to 3 hours can be built into the itinerary.
Thank you once again for organising a brilliant trip. No doubt we will travel with you again in the future. "
- Eric and Larraine W.(Myanmar Group Tour, March 2013)

" We have recently returned from the small group trip to Myanmar and would like let you know how much we enjoyed the trip, the itinerary was great, as were the hotels, the local guides were friendly and efficient (apart from the slight hic-cup at Heho airport) and the final 4 days at Ngapali Beach were just the “icing on the cake” especially the Ngapali Bay hotel. We appreciated how you sorted out the problem so quickly and efficiently after the airport delays. We feel it was excellent value and will happily recommend your company to any friends who may consider visiting Myanmar in the future.
We are writing up an account of the holiday for our web site and will email you the details of the link when it is completed, and we would be happy for you pass on the details for any future customers who may consider going on the trip."
- Chris and Sue J. (Myanmar Group Tour, March 2013)

" Finally back to normal after our holiday.
I thought I would just send a quick email to let you know what a fantastic holiday we had. The tour guides were brilliant, full of knowledge and were a pleasure to spend time with especially when we were in Hoi An with Vu, he was amazing so funny.
The whole holiday experience was amazing from the places we visited the lovely hotels we stayed at and the safe transport on those mad roads.
I would like to thank you for all your help and for answering my many questions before we went with such prompt response I hope I did not annoy you too much.
We will defintitely recommend your company to others and we are looking to maybe going to south India so you may hear from me again. Thanks for all you help again."
- Mrs Julie F.(Vietnam, March 2013)

" We would like to thank you for arranging a truly memorable holiday in Vietnam. We were so pleased that we opted for a fully guided holiday, it was perfect for us.
All three of our guides were amazing, they took us to see all the sites and were full of information about the history , culture and every day living in Vietnam. They were also very friendly and kind and telling about some of their family life helped understand the history of Vietman.
The cars were comfortable and drivers very skilled in what we thought was crazy traffic, but we always felt safe. Some fantastic hotels and great food. The Sofitel Plaza, La Residence and Victoria were truly amazing.
Good luck and best wishes to Thuy for her wedding.
Thank you once again for a holiday of a life time."
- Graham and Lesley H. (Vietnam, March 2013)

" We have just returned from a brilliant holiday on your Myanmar Discovery Tour. This is our second trip with Dragon Travel and just as before the arrangements were first class. Myanmar is a fascinating country, with wonderful people; each place we visited Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay, Pindaya, Kalaw and Inle Lake were different from the last and all extremely interesting. The Shwedagon Pergoda at sunset was amazing while Bagan took our breath away with its 3000 pagodas/temples. Our 4 hour trek at Kalaw was a fascinating walk back in time and Inle Lake was completely unexpected by its scale and diversity. All our guides were very good but we would like to give special thanks to our guide (Jo Jo) in Bagan, he seemed to go out of his way to make our visit special, nothing was too much trouble.

All our hotels were excellent; food was good, flights on time. All in all we had an amazing holiday. Thank You.
All best wishes "
- Pauline and Tony C.(Myanmar, March 2013)

" I thought I'd jot down a few reflections on our recent holiday in Myanmar. Looking through the photos we took and thinking about all we saw and did, it was a truly amazing experience.
Tourism in Myanmar seems to be developing very quickly with a demand for more guides and hotel rooms to meet the number of people longing and able to explore this country for the first time. Some things we hadn't expected ... Being able to pick up and send emails and keep in touch with the family and send photos. Friends who had visited in a group last November had not been allowed to stop outside Aung San Suu Kyi's residence, only drive past. Our young guide in Yangon proudly wearing his bag with her image on it assured us that there was no problem, and we were allowed to stop, get out of the car and take photos, along with some other tourists who asked if we had come to see the Queen too!
The sights in Myanmar were stunning, the temples, Buddhas, and the landscape at Bagan particularly memorable. We enjoyed magnificant sunsets at temples in Yangon and Bagan, climbing to Manadalay Fort and watching the colours change from boats in the river and sitting outside our des res in it's perfect spot facing the sea at Ngapali beach.
We remember the lovely people we met and talked to, the exquisite crafts we saw being made - the laquerware individually created over a woven interior ( and I had thought it was just papier mâché built up in layers). The beautiful sand paintings in Bagan, too big to take home but in particular the work of two brothers one making the image and the other adding the colours was absolutely beautiful. I shall use my woven water bottle carrier when I go for walks and take to pilates and remember the lady in Mingun I bought it from.
We saw the monks lining up for their food, the young novice nuns in their pink robes just girls really, and the privilege of seeing boys presented at one of the temples in Mandalay by their proud parents. Dressed as little princes as Buddha had originally been, they were there on the first stage of their journey to becoming monks, and would have had their heads shaved the following day.
We saw culture shows in Yangon and Bagan and at restaurants with puppets and traditional dances. We were ushered to the front in pole position at our hotel restaurant and the following night had a repeat performance. In Bagan there was a brilliant elephant dance with two dancers wearing the costume and doing an amazing mix of gymnastic moves with a bit of moonwalking as well to much applause.
It is lovely being met at the airport by a friendly guide and ushered into a car with a card of welcome on the dashboard. We had three guides in all - a young man at Yangon, girl at Mandalay and a more experienced one in Bagan. Tourism is developing and guides will improve their language skills very quickly I expect. Zau in Bagan was perfection, the right combination of enthusiasm, kindness, knowledge and practicality. But Win in Yangon surprised me when he met us on our return to Yangon on our last night before we came home. He took us from the airport to our hotel and stopped en route at the Methodist Church. He had remembered that my Dad and Grandad were Methodist ministers and stopped as the church was open and a service was in progress. I was incredibly moved by both his unexpected kindness and the atmosphere within the church where groups were holding hands, praying and passing the peace. One of the clergy came and spoke to us and the gentleness of the service and that scene I will never forget.
Nor the hotels or the fabulous position on the beach at Bayview. Perfection!
The only slight hiccup was we found the little planes a bit hard on ears and sinuses but we'd be prepared another time. The main worry about timing for the journey home was sorted efficiently and reassuringly by Ki and Rob who organised the journey back to Yangon for the last night. We had found the domestic flights were delayed and we only had a time slot of 75 minutes if we got to Yangon on time to get through to the international flights home. When our hotel manager said that was a bit over ambitious instead of the reassurance we'd hoped for, we emailed Dragon Travel!
This is our second holiday with Dragon Travel and have now been totally spoiled in the way we have been looked after and the wonderfully personal experience of travelling with a guide and driver. It offers far more of an insight into places that being one of a large group.
Myanmar was wonderful and we would certainly think seriously about going back perhaps with a short tour that included Inle Lake and back to room 201 at Bayview. Maybe a stop off en route. Perhaps next year?
Thank you."
- Virginia and David A.(Myanmar, February 2013. Now rebooked for 2014.)

" A million thanks for arranging a truly brilliant three week holiday. My wife and I and our six friends have travelled to many places on many holidays but we all agreed that our tour of Myanmar was undoubtedly the best.
Myanmar is a wonderful country and although it's people have experienced years of oppression and deprivation we found that wherever we went we were given a genuinely warm and friendly welcome. Your organisation was superb and in your local agent you have the perfect partner. All four of our guides were excellent and couldn't do enough for us. They were well educated, caring and flexible. We particularly loved Mr Win our guide in Yangon who met us on our arrival and eloquently expressed his sadness to see us leave.
The travel arrangements were faultless - wherever we went someone, and often a team of people, were there to meet us. Our luggage was collected at airports, checked in for our flights and dealt with at hotels. The hotels were brilliant and far more luxurious than we were expecting. The two new hotels, Villa Inle and the Amara Ocean are among the very best hotels we've seen and their settings are glorious. Your choice of restaurants were brilliant and we didn't have a disappointing meal. We were particularly stunned by the view from the restaurants overlooking the river at Bagan.
We loved the Irrawaddy cruise and although it wasn't the boat you'd hoped to book us on it was great for us. We thought Bagan was one of the wonders of the world and Lake Inle is such a special place. We slightly changed our itinerary to make the two and a half hour journey to the bottom of the lake which proved to be another highlight of an amazing holiday.
Your itinerary was well balanced and gave us a fascinating insight into a country which is full of potential and likely to see an explosion of tourism. It's very hard to find some constructive criticism. We thought the view of Mount Popa from the restaurant was fantastic however we didn't particularly enjoy the visit. It wasn't the 700 odd steps, it was climbing the steps in bare feet desperately trying, but not succeeding to avoid monkey droppings .... and the monkeys weren't very friendly!
Again a very big thank you to you and your team for arranging such an amazing holiday. We met some acquaintances on Lake Inle who were travelling with another well known company and staying in similar hotels. In conversation it became clear that they were paying a great deal more for a shorter trip, were receiving less attention and travelling in cramped transport. whilst our small party we were loving our large quirky busses!
The people and the sights and sounds of Myanmar will be with us forever.
Best wishes and Kind regards
PS. I'm very happy for my comments to be included in your brochure and I'd be happy to chat to any of your potential customers who might like to discuss our experience of Dragon Travel. "
- Mr Christopher M. (Party of 8 people, Myanmar, February 2013)

" Having returned to the UK yesterday from our holiday in Myanmar, we felt we had to write to you!
We had the most wonderful time and would like to thank you both very much for all your work in arranging this holiday for us. The whole trip went like clockwork with no hitches at all. Our only concern at the outset was the prospect of a 6-7 hour wait for our flight to Bangkok at Yangon airport on our last day. But totally unexpectedly we were met by a guide and driver who took us out around Yangon (going wherever we wanted) for the period of our wait, returning us to the airport in time for our onward flight. This was the icing on the cake for us and made such a difference to our last day.
Our upgraded first hotel was excellent as was the beach hotel (the location on the beach was perfect in terms of being close to the beach bars and restaurants - fantastic food and so cheap!). The 2 other hotels, whilst being perfectly OK, were basic, standard ones. On reflection, we would probably have upgraded these. Please don't feel this is a complaint, we are just making an observation.
The guides were always ready and waiting for us. The drivers could not be faulted in what were sometimes very difficult driving conditions (!). No-one could have done more in terms of being helpful and friendly. (The accents were at times a challenge!)
I felt we saw everything promised and more (seeing dolphins on the Ayeyarwaddy River were a wonderful treat).
Thank you both again for all your help and advice. We will certainly have no qualms in recommending Dragon Tours & Travel Ltd. We are already considering a further trip to Myanmar this time next year to inlcude a visit Inle Lake and possibly a balloon flight over Bagan en route to Ngapoli beach. We'll be in touch!!
All best wishes "
- Kate and Nick (Myanmar, January 2013)

" All our guides and drivers have been helpful and knowledgable. They have introduced their country to us with enthusiasm and have done their best to ensure that we have seen as much as possible of this beautiful country. The warmth and friendliness of everyone we have met will be an abiding memory of Myanmar. It really is like no other place on earth. "
- Mrs G.S.(Myanmar, January 2013)

" Many thanks to you both for arranging such a magical trip for us...enchanting gentle people and a glorious country.
- Richard D (Laos, December 2012)

" Thank you for organising a very successful holiday to Cambodia for us.
We had a fantastic time and covered much of the country in our three and a half weeks. We did lots of different things including boat trips. elephant trekking, trips to local markets and temples. A large part of the success was down to the two guides, especially our second one called Nara. She had a very caring and sympathetic attitude to the local people, culture and environment which was a great experience for us. She also went out of her way to make sure everything was right for us including checking on meals and hotel rooms. She made our holiday especially enjoyable. We have also got loads of photographs of our trip.
Once again thank you for another great holiday.
- Roy and Pat C. (Cambodia, November 2012)

" Again, thank you both very much for setting up such a splendid holiday for us in Bhutan. Sonia and I greatly enjoyed the 'small group' arrangement, as we did we went to Burma with Dragon Travel, especially as we all got on so well with each other. This was particularly important as some days were long coach journeys on challenging roads, but through wonderful countryside.
In particular, I am deeply grateful to you for solving the debacle on the 'night of our departure' which saved our holiday with no loss of visits thanks to our excellent guide Dorji. I am gradually letting the incident pass out of my mind and, in any case, once in Bhutan I was able to thoroughly enjoy the holiday.
We approached our holiday to Bhutan with great expectations and these were more than exceeded. It is a wonderful country with spectacular scenery, stunning buildings and above all a happy and smiling population inspired by a profound Bhuddist religion and culture. It is a small, growing country bounded by huge nations, India and China, but is prepared to set its own pace of life laced with a gentle introduction to 'modernism'. The air is so clean and clear that it is possible to see and photograph the high Eastern Himalayas well over 100km away. We visited many Temples and Dzongs of breathtaking design and location, all with subtle differences in structure and colour; a photographers dream. The highlights were, of course, the Tiger's Nest and the Bumthang Festival but the less visited Kila Goemba, a nunnery built into a mountainside, was equally impressive.
Dragon Travel and its associates in Bhutan arranged our small group holiday to perfection and is certainly the company we would always recommend for such holidays in SE Asia and China. "
- Brian C.(Bhutan, November 2012)

" ....I thought I'd send this brief email to underline how much Elaine and I appreciated the holiday you arranged for us, which ended last weekend. It was hugely good of you to seek contact when we were in Mandalay, after the earthquake. As you know, we were about 80 miles from the epicentre and were certainly shaken up at breakfast time! We saw damage to a pagoda in Mingun and we were told the old Mingun Bell had shifted, but otherwise it cause us no problems. Thank you for showing concern.
The arrangements were superb. We enjoyed all the hotels, the guides were helpful, informative and attentive, and the internal flights worked amazingly efficiently...Altogether: a very stimulating experience. Thank you. "
- Rob and Elaine K. (Myanmar, November 2012)

" Just to let you know we have had a wonderfull time in Hong Kong/China.
The hotels/tours were certainly 5 star standard (the Shangri La hotels are exceptionally of a high standard and a pleasure to stay in)...overall another exceptional adventure.
We have now had 4 equally enjoyable holiday adventures with Dragon. Thank you Ki and Rob. We always recomend Dragon to our friends and family. "
- Ian and Donna J.(China, November 2012)

" We both wish to thank Dorji and our driver for their superb service in making our visit to Bhutan a real 'holiday of a lifetime'. The organisation of the days and the marvellous visits to all the places of special interest were unforgettable...It was a unique experience to see such a contented people who were gracious and smiling and so helpful. "
- Brian and Sonia C. (Bhutan small group tour, November 2012)

" We have had a wonderful holiday and we shall take very special memories home with us. Then our guide, Dorji, what an exceptional perison he is. Nothing was too much trouble for him, he was attentive in the hotels and made sure that every time that our needs were met.We had only to mention something we would like to see and it was arranged...we feel very fortunate to have had such care while in Bhutan. "
- Richard and Ann N.(Bhutan small group tour, November 2012)

" Bhutan was everything we expected and more. Beautiful scenery, friendly people, interesting and historic buildings. The weather was also good and the warm clothes we took were only worn at night. Tbe driver did an excellent job on some very poor roads. Our guide was informative, helpful and attentive and both he and the driver were a credit to Bhutan. Hotel were more than acceptable, with the Zhiwaling dererving special mention. "
- Mr Paul C.(Bhutan, November 2012)

" We have just returned from the China visit as arranged by yourselves at Dragon Travel.
As we have travelled with you before to other parts of Asia this trip once again was of the highest quality and standard that we have come to expect from you.
The itinerary, transport, guides, food and hotels were excellent and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves throughout the trip.
Would recommend an extra day or two in Shanghai.!
Again many thanks and hope to travel with you again. "
- Graeme and Barbara A. (China October 2012)

" We would all like to thank you, thank you, thank you for the extremely well organised holiday. We normally book our long haul holidays with Kuoni but after reading some of your clients experiences decided to go with Dragon Travel on this ocassion. We are so pleased we did.
The flights, hotels, villages, towns, cities, food and tour guides were fantastic. Vietnam is a diverse and wonderful country - everyone should visit it!"
- Mrs. D.H.(Vietnam, July 2012)

" Fantastic holiday, well planned. Everything went like clockwork. We love Vietnam and can't wait to come back. Great company we would recommend."
- Mr and Mrs A.B. (Vietnam, June/July 2012)

" [Hoi An] Loved Hoi An! So Beautiful. Our tour was very informative and entertaining - our tour guide was extremely funny and friendly. We would definitely recommend this trip and would love to come back. Thanks for an unforgettable few days...[Hanoi] Amazing tour, very informative and interesting. Would definitly do this again and would recommend it to anybody. Also the food was delicious!...[HCMC] Very good tour, we enjoyed it a lot especially the Cu Chi tunnels. The food was excellent and the tour guide very insightful."
- Mr. M.B. (Vietnam, June/July 2012)

" Just a few words to thank you for organising our holiday in North Vietnam. We had a fantastic time; saw some wonderful scenery, met lots of nice people and ate many different types of food. This was largely due to our guide, with his philosophy of ‘never try, never know’. The guide was brilliant, took really good care of us, made sure we always had water and fresh fruit and ensured there were always lots of interesting things for us to see and do. He always wanted to do what was best for us and he certainly achieved that. We cannot praise him enough...
Once again many thanks for a splendid holiday."
- Roy and Pat.C (Vietnam, April 2012)

" Having recently returned from a truly brilliant trip to Myanmar we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all at Dragon Travel. Everything went like clockwork including flights, connections, guides and choice of sites and hotels. We loved The Thiripyiysaya in Bagan and Amara in Kalaw.
A remarkable country with wonderful people, and amazing sites, and brilliant food. We would recommend your company to anyone planning to travel to Myanmar. We would definitely use Dragon Travel for future trips."
- Anne & Gordon, Aberdeenshire (Myanmar, Feb. 2012)

" We would just like to tell you how much we enjoyed our trip and to say that it was extremely well organised. Our guides were all very good, helpful and considerate and the drivers were also very good and careful. We loved the places that we visited and hope to return again - at a less hot time of year - to visit other places in Myanmar."
- Ms.A.M (Myanmar, April 2012)

" Thank you so much for a very memorable holiday. Our guide, Cat was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She was informative and friendly and we felt she exceeded her basic duties may times to ensure our holiday went smoothly. The driver, Hom also needs special thanks for transporting us safely through the busy traffic. It was a marvellous trip and will have no problems recommending Dragon Travel to our friends."
- Mrs Anne O. (Vietnam, March 2012)

" We would like to thank you for the organisation of our tour to Myanmar which was brilliant.
First we have to say that the country was totally different to our expectations, and so much more varied and interesting than we had expected, having travelled earlier to SE Asia, and anticipating something similar to Laos and Cambodia...
The hotels were much more up market than we expected, or indeed expected to find in Myanmar. Added to which we not only had superb rooms everywhere we went, but also in each hotel we seemed to be allocated rooms in the best location. The same comment applies to restaurants, where we had reserved tables in the best locations. We appreciated the puppet show in Bagan and the floorshow in the Yangon restaurants which we did not expect.
The travel arrangements worked smoothly, and the guides were knowledgable and all had a good command of english. We have today been looking thorough the many hundreds of photos we took, and are amazed at the number of memorable sights we visited, and at how varied the trip was. We particularly appreciated the car and guide for the time we had to spend in Yangon between flights on our return journey. This was both unexpected and very welcome...
...We did meet a few other people from The UK, and naturally there was some comparing of travel arrangements. Your company came out of this well in the lead on the overall organisation and flexibility to put together our own tour of the country, for which we would like to send you our thanks."
- Pauline and David P. (Myanmar, April 2012)

" My apologies for the delay in writing to you both to thank you for organising a truly memorable holiday. It was tremendous and the guide we had, Kim, was excellent. In fact it was so good that my better half has decided that we are going back next year.
We’ve already recommended Dragon to friends so hopefully more people will get to enjoy Vietnam – marvellous people and marvellous country."
- Stewart S. (Vietnam, January 2012)

" Just a quick thank you for the great trip you organised for us all was perfect, planes, guides, sites, beach etc.
Your representatives in Myanmar were great, flexible when we wanted to change the programme, informative on the attractions and life in general. I would recommend Myanmar to anyone - the country is already full of white haired british, so the perception is of a very safe and friendly place among that age group generally."
- Mrs Rowan C-W (Myanmar, March 2012)

" Having never undertaken similar tours and admittedly choosing Dragon Travel based mainly on the testimonies on your website, I am delighted to let you know what a wonderful choice we made in the end.
The organisation of the 21 days we spent in Indo China was faultless. All of your local guides were helpful, friendly and always punctual. They even took over the tedious tasks of booking into hotels and checking in at airports. The selection of hotels, restaurants and places to visit was first class and the transport provided was always modern and spacious. Even when I had the misfortune to suffer from a minor illness, the local representative provided an English speaking escort to take me for medical treatment.
All in all a thoroughly wonderful experience that went without a hitch and we would like to thank you all at Dragon Travel for putting together a magnificent touring experience."
- Peter and Marilyn W. (Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, February 2012)

" It was a fabulous trip and thank you for your help and support. The guides were really excellent and the accommodation first class. Particularly true at Ngapali which has to be amongst the best beaches in the world. The sea is warm and the beach spotless. There is an interesting golf course which is ecological non watered but very enjoyable with clubs for hire. We could have done with less to eat at lunches..but that is age, and difficult to say no to such charming people."
- John M. (Myanmar, February 2012)

" I have recently returned from a wonderful holiday in Myanmar and would like to thank all of you at Dragon Travel for making it all possible. The arrangements you made and all the guides and drivers were superb. I was throughly delighted with Myanmar and would heartily recommend it."
- Mr. John S. (Myanmar, January 2012)

" Just to let you know what a fantastic holiday we had in January in Myanmar. As usual everything went like clockwork from start to finish. On our return the flight from Ngapali beach arrived in Yangon at 10.50 and the connecting flight to Bangkok was at 19.40 so we were expecting to be in the airport for 9 hours but when we arrived at Yangon there was a driver and guide waiting for us and they took us sight seeing and for lunch. This was the perfect end to an excellent holiday.
Our guides and drivers were excellent throught the tour with their knowledge and all spoke very good English. All the hotels were excellent and the room at Bay View was like a dream. We had a bungalow on a white sandy beach with palm trees and in the evening the sun set as we had a drink on the patio, paradise.
Our favourite place was Inle Lake, we had an extra tour further down the lake and our guide arranged for us to go in one of the canoes with the leg rower, quite an experience.
We saw and experienced so many things and the people are so friendly and happy everywhere you go.

[This was our] third time with Dragon Travel and Myanmar was the best yet. From start to finish we could not have wished for anything more. We love the country and the people are so special we would love to return."
- Eddie and Barbara S. (Myanmar, January 2012)

" I thought I should email our feedback for the holiday to Cambodia that you organised for us recently. We have been back a couple of weeks now and have had a chance to reflect on the experience and David has sorted through all the photos we took!
We chose Dragon Travel as we haven't done a longhaul holiday for a few years and particularly wanted to explore Cambodia on its own and hadn't seen such an itinerary before. We also liked the idea of it just being us with a guide and driver and also the flexibility to select hotels. As well as us being 66 and 68 I had also fractured my foot in late August and although the bone had healed well I was still using a stick as there is still soft tissue damage.
The holiday was wonderful from start to finish - I had always wanted to arrive at an airport to see someone waiting holding a sign with our names on! Rino and Virak our guides were both lovely. It was like travelling in a family, and I was very sad to say goodbye to them. Their knowledge and their own life stories were fascinating and their kindness too in ensuring we were okay. We felt sorry for large parties of exhausted tourists at some of the main sights, while we had such individual attention. As we finished looking at something the driver was summoned and the car glided towards us with welcome air conditioning, wet wipes and water at the ready. Fabulous!
The first hotel Anghor Village is the most exquisite hotel and a wonderful start to the holiday. The Independence was also excellent and it's setting lovely and relaxing. Sambur Village was okay but there were dogs barking a lot in the night .. But I know that they were affected by flooding and had closed for a while and had to clean it up to reopen, so they hadn't had an easy time. The Verandah at Kep was very laid back and sort of more style than substance. Certainly I wouldn't recommend their laundry! I think we were spoiled by Anghor Village which was just such a lovely experience.
We liked the way the tour was planned although I would like to have more time at Siem Reap at the beginning .. We were very tired when we arrived and it would have been nice to have maybe the same things but over one more day. We loved the way meals were included - all very different, and we would arrive to find our table waiting set for us perhaps overlooking a river or an example of a particular cuisine. Lots of variety and all interesting and we could choose to link with however our Malarone tablets were making us feel at the time!
I am sure we saw far more than with a large group and were able to enjoy a far more intimate look at Cambodian life. The people we met were friendly and the children impressively good at speaking English that they had learned at school. We came away with an admiration for the positivity of the people after such a recent terrible history, and an appreciation if the varied landscapes and heritage sites. Virak and Rino's stories of their life remain in our minds. We were lucky with the weather as it was dry and warm apart from a couple of storms and we were able to do and see everything. It was interesting too talking to other travellers we met .. Different nationalities.
The holiday was a wonderful experience and more really than we anticipated. Having an individual tour was brilliant and we now need to think about exploring another area possibly at the end of 2012 or beginning of 2013 .. before we get too decrepit! People we spoke to urged us to go to Laos and particularly Burma so we will see what you offer there with a similar mix of sightseeing and a bit of relaxation at the end.
Thank you for all your input in ensuring the holiday went so smoothly and enjoyably!"
- Virginia and David A. (Cambodia, December 2011)

" I'd like to express my thanks for the arrangements you made for what was a wonderful holiday in Laos. I found the staff in Laos to be very professional, friendly, enthusiastic, helpful and informative, from Zach who met me at the airport, Soon who guided me in Ventiane, Gorn who accompanied me for the rest of the tour and the gentleman (whose name I didn't catch) who escorted me back to the airport. I was also impressed by the calm manner and driving skills of La along some very challenging roads!
I have been fortunate to have travelled quite widely and can honestly say that this was one of the very best holidays I have taken and I do hope in the future to travel again with your company.
Many thanks,
- Ms. Ruth C. (Laos, November 2011)

" I had a delightful 14 day tour. The hotels (especially Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary and Red Canal - the best, Amara Resort and Inle Lake View but also Traders as a large city hotel) were first class. The guides were informative and helpful. The drivers all drove very well on not always very well maintained roads. I enjoyed the Myanmar cuisine and the the cultural attractions were beyond my expectations."
- Mr. Denys S. (Myanmar, November 2011)

" Thanks for a fantastic holiday, the hotels were very good, local guides/drivers excellent,we would be very happy to recommend your company to our friends.."
Frank & Wendy L. (Cambodia, November 2011)

" Thank you so much for organising our fantastic holiday to Bhutan. We have been back at work for 2 weeks now and decided that we ought to congratulate you, and the agencies you used, for the itinerary and for looking after us. On our outward journey we were met at Bangkok, taken to the airport hotel and checked in with wonderful efficiency. Arrangements were put in place to ensure we were taken to the airport the following morning in plenty of time to have breakfast and catch our flight to Paro.
At Paro, our car, driver and guide were all waiting for us as soon as we landed. The 2 weeks that followed can only be described as magical. Our driver, Pema, was only a young man (23) but was probably the safest driver we've had on our various adventures around the world. He was always happy with a great sense of humour and ensured the car was cleaned every night inside and out. Our guide, Thukten, had been drafted in because they were very busy. According to Pema, he had not done very many tours. Well, if Thukten was a relative novice, then everyone else must possess magical powers. Nothing was too much trouble. Whatever we wanted to do he arranged it with the minimum of fuss. If we casually mentioned the possibility of seeing anything we could think of, he always remembered and within a day or two he had organised it.
When it came to shopping, it was like having your own personal shopper. He insisted on carrying all our purchases and was more than happy to accompany us for however long we took.
Throughout our "hikes" he carried Larraine's bag and assisted her whenever she needed it over rough terrain. He was wonderful. With hindsight, perhaps he possessed magical powers after all. Throughout the tour we were very lucky. We never missed a single festival. We got to see and touch a silk tapestry at Wangdue Phodrang which is only unfurled once a year from 06:00 to 08:00 if someone sponsors it. We saw a mask dance, without masks, at Gangtey - even Thukten had never seen it before. We had front row seats at Jakar as well as a tour of everywhere in the temple. We had a blessing of long life from the chief Abbott at Trongsa - another first for Thukten as well.
During preparations for the Royal Wedding, we saw monks rehearsing ceremonies that had not been done since the last King's wedding over 30 years ago.On the day before the wedding we stopped at Duchela pass to take photos and the Queen was just leaving the temple to go to Wangdue. I have a 7 second video of her being driven past us, less than 6 feet away. According to Thukten, the coincidence of all those things in such a short space of time may never happen again.
On the day of the Royal Wedding, 13 Oct 2011, we hiked up to Tiger's Nest. It's pretty hard going, but what a magnificent sight awaits. Truly breathtaking. Then the day after we had a gentle? hike up to Kila Goemba nunnery where we saw the nuns practising a ceremony and had the best cup of tea of the holiday - all the others were pretty good too.
When we left, on the 15th, it was with very sad hearts because the time had passed too quickly and we had to leave two new friends behind. At Bangkok we were met on time yet again, checked our luggage through to Manchester and went on the evening dinner river cruise. Our table for two was well worth the time and money. The weather was atrocious with a violent storm raging all night and the river level very high - worst floods for over 50 years.
Once again, congratulations and thank you for a well organised fabulous trip....
Once we've been to see the Northern Lights we will be saving up to find a trip that covers Laos, North Vietnam (we've seen the south twice) and maybe South Korea. Needless to say, we will be checking your website next summer for possibilities."
- Eric & Larraine W.(Bhutan, October 2011)

" Overall, a fabulous tour in a country that is like no other we've ever seen. A little expensive, but well worth the money."
Mr & Mrs E.W. (Bhutan, October 2011)

" In Vietnam the whole experience has been fantastic. The hotels, trips and guides became progressively better. Thuy was outstanding both with knowledge of subject and also her enthusiasm and willingness to give that little bit extra! She certainly made the Vietnam leg of our journey finish on a high! Thank you for organising the tour and a special thank you to Thuy! "
- Mr & Mrs S.(Vietnam, September 2011)

" Our guide was very friendly and knowledgable. He took great care of us - always on time and extremely helpful. The driver was amazing and we always felt very safe. I would highly recommend this trip - hotels were all very high quality and meals wonderful. Overall we has a wonderful trip, so well organised and interesting. Will recommend to friends."
Ms Mary B. and Mr J.Y-E (Vietnam Aug-Sep 2011)

" Tenzin worked incredibly hard to ensure that our trip has been one of our best holidays ever. He is very knowledgable and passionate about his culture and has treated us with kindness and good humour. We would like to thank him for a fabulous two weeks."
- Ian and Linda H. (Bhutan, August 2011)

" Just a brief note to let you know that we have returned safely from a most enjoyable trip to Thailand & Bhutan.
We were very well looked after by Mr Boon in Thailand & Mr Kinley accompanied by Mr Sangay in Bhutan. Both Bhutan & our time in Bangkok were most memorable experiences and we could not speak more highly of the kindness & hospitality we received.
We would also like to thank you & Dragon Travel for organising a fantastic trip to a fascinating place and can only congratulate you on your organisation. The logistics will not have been easy yet the trip was faultless in its organisation and something to remember for all time.
We would have no hesitation in returning to Dragon Travel for future trips & equally would have no hesitation in recommending Dragon Travel to our friends and acquaintances.
Thank you for being so accommodating, best regards,"
Mr.James B. & Mr.Jonathan D.(Bhutan & Bangkok July 2011)

" The trip was excellent, very well organized and the 2 guides were brilliant. The sites were amazing and we will aim to book another trip with Dragon in the future."
- Mark E.(Vietnam & Cambodia, May 2011)

" As I sit in the departure lounge of HCMC airport awaiting my flight to KL I thought I would send you a short message of appreciation for the success of the tour you arranged.
I have had an outstanding trip and leave reluctantly but full of vivid memories of enjoyable places and people. Your guides have been outstanding though if I had to put them in order of merit I would have to say that, with Ms Thuy, you kept the best till last :-). Your drivers too deserve praise for the careful way they delivered me safely on each stage of my travels in conditions that I would have hated to be driving in myself! The hotels you selected were excellent too and the meals you had organised only had one defect - I enjoyed them so much that I have seriously overeaten :-)
I have some thoughts and suggestions about some details but I will keep them for another note once I have returned home to Italy in ten days time. For now I will close with a brief but sincere, Thank you."
- Peter C.(Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos May 2011) sent from my iPhone.

" We have just returned form a holiday with yourselves to Vietnam and Cambodia and we were very impressed with your companies knowledge and commitment to your visitors. Your tour company made our holiday run like clockwork and took all the worry out of travelling around a country that untill we knew very little about. Your tour guides were excellent and could not fault any of them, they tried to attend to everyones needs and was always attentive and was able to answer every question raised...."
- Mrs Allison G. (Vietnam & Cambodia, April 2011)

" Excellent trip, enhanced by our tour guide, Tshering Gyeltshen who, I understand, you and Ki met on a recent visit. He really made it for us: he understood what we were looking for (culture & not too many long walks) and really came up with the goods. As a result our itinerary suited our needs perfectly, and Tshering improved on it with local side trips to interesting venues off the beaten tourist track... ...overall, our impression was of a wonderful country blessed with wonderful people who, without exception made us feel most welcome and who went out of their way to make us happy."
- Brian J.(Bhutan, March 2011)

" Thank you so much for arranging a wonderful holiday to Vietnam and Cambodia for me and my husband. The whole holiday did exceed our expectations...our picnic lunch in the Kulen mountain was perfect. All the hotels and arrangements were without fault and would recommend Dragontravel to other people. You and Bob have been most helpful.
I am now looking at your other holidays for our next trip. Its going to be difficult to choose because the recent

" Just a quick email to let you know I had a truly breathtaking experience on my holiday in Bhutan. Thank you very much for all your efforts to re-arrange my trip and I can honestly say it was one of the best, if not THE best, cultural trips I have undertaken. The scenery and architecture were magnificent; the people so friendly; our guide and driver simply amazing - nothing was too much trouble; and my fellow travellers great fun!
Thank you very much indeed. I will recommend you to others and certainly keep you in mind for any other Asia trips I may make in the future."
- Kevin D.(Bhutan, March 2011)

" We and our friends have just returned from holiday in Vietnam which exceeded all our expectations. Our holiday took in Saigon, The Mekong Delta and Mue Ne. The four of us were driven around in an air conditioned mini bus by Xai who was very attentive and friendly. What can we say about Thuy our Guide, who looked after all our needs and was very knowledgeable with a lovely bubbly personality. Nothing was too much trouble for her, even booking us in at the various Hotels we stayed at. We like to eat at local restaurants and she introduced us to some first rate places where local people eat. The travel arrangements made by Dragon Travel were superb, the Country is beautiful and food exceptional. You can be assured that we shall definitely use your services again. Thanks to all at Dragon Travel who were involved in putting our package together, you did us proud. Once again, Many thanks & Regards"
- Sylvia and Geoff F. (Vietnam, March 2011)

" Our holiday was fantastic, we have been all over the world and this was one of the best, exciting, different, amazing, stunning scenery, peaceful, beautiful friendly people in fact to coin an american phrase just awesome.
The guides and drivers were all so friendly helpful and pleasant as were all the locals we met in villages, towns and cities, so thankyou for arranging such a wonderful time for us that went like clockwork where ever we were.
I do have a message from all the local people we spoke to where ever we visited, why do they not see very many people from England, mostly it is French, German, a few Aussies,Chinese and Japenese so they said please advertise Myanmar more in the UK as the more tourists thet have the more jobs it provides for them.."
- Mrs. Val M.(Myanmar, February/March 2011)

" Just a line to say thank you for arranging our fantastic tour of Laos.
Everything went like clockwork, flights, tour, guides, drivers, hotels, all were excellent, and of course Laos is a beautiful country. Thank you once again. "
- Alan T. & Anna L. (Laos, February 2011)

" It’s now well over a week since our return from Laos and Cambodia, and the memories of our time there are still vivid and fresh. We want to thank you all at Dragon Travel for arranging such as lovely holiday.
We hadn’t heard of Dragon Travel before, and had great difficulty finding out anything out about you, but I have to say that we’ve been most impressed by the efficiency, care, and organisation that you have all shown, both here in the UK and in-country.We particularly loved Laos for so many reasons – gentle people, fantastic hotels, lack of tourism hassle...
The guides and drivers were all very different but had one thing in common – an attentiveness to our comfort and enjoyment and a real pride in, and knowledge of, their respective countries....The itinerary was busy and at times tiring, but we wouldn’t have wanted to miss out on any of the places we visited. Our guides did everything they could to make our stay a special and comfortable one. We felt like royalty with the service and attention we were given. We’d love to go back and explore both countries further some time.
Thanks once again for a fabulous holiday. Dragon Travel deserves every praise for getting it spot on."
- Ted and Janet M (Laos & Cambodia, February 2011)

" We just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for making our holiday such a success from beginning to end. It was everything we had hoped it would be - and more. The travel arrangements were spot on, the hotels wonderful and the quality consistent (I especially loved Raffles in Phnom Penh) though they were all excellent. The guides both in Vietnam (lovely Daisy) and Cambodia did a wonderful job and couldn't have been more helpful and informative. All in all we had a marvellous time, thank you."
- Michael and Gwyn F.(Vietnam & Cambodia, February 2011)

" We had a fantastic time. The organisation was first class throughout, the phrase “it does exactly what it says on the tin” comes to mind. All the flights worked well, we were met as expected, the cars and drivers were good although most of the drivers did not speak English their driving was good, they kept the cars clean, especially the one in Northern Laos who was extremely good and they were always friendly. The guides were all good but two of them were exceptional... Angkor Wat is just mind blowing! We also appreciated the excursion to Phnom Kulen with the river of 1000 lingas where not many western tourists went. Very impressive and thoroughly enjoyed, well done for getting us there.... The last couple of days in Phnom Pen were good. The museum of genocide and the killing fields have to been seen and every visitor has to form his own opinion but I would have hated not to have gone there. The guide was very friendly and accommodating by changing the order more to our needs....To sum up we had a really fantastic time over the 23 days we were in your care. The few little gripes are details for you to consider to improve for future clients and did not detract from the overall satisfaction.
Well done again Dragon Travel we will continue to recommend you."
- Mr & Mrs P.F.(Laos & Cambodia, January 2011)

" Thank you so much, Thomas, for looking after us in Kerala for the last two weeks. You have given us so many experiences extra to our programme which has made our stay more enjoyable. We have enjoyed you compnay very much and and will recommend you to anyone wanting to come [to Kerala] to stay.
If you want any feedback for future travellers, please let us know.
Many thanks and kind regards"
- Mrs. A.W and party (India, January 2011)

" We are now back from our tour to Myanmar and Bangkok and I just wanted to say thank you for all the arrangements that you made. Everything worked out as planned. We were met at each airport. The three guides were absolutely excellent (and very helpful and understanding over my difficulties with steep steps). The visits we made with them were all fascinating. The four hotels were excellent in their different ways. Altogether it was a wonderful fortnight, giving us a real introduction to an extraordinary country. We are deeply grateful to you for arranging it all so efficiently. If we know of anyone planning to visit that part of the world we will certainly encourage them to contact you."
- Kenneth and Barbara P-B (Myanmar, January 2011)

" Just returned from Laos where we had a fantastic time in this beautiful country.. Everything went like clockwork and was extremely well organised.
If you want any feedback for future travellers, please let us know.
Many thanks and kind regards"
- David and Mary R. (Laos, January 2011)

" ...the organisation was very good, the transport was good; the guides, Sam and Vu, were excellent, knowledgeable, efficient, helpful & pleasant company. Meals, where provided, were very good (although a lighter lunch sometimes would have suited us better than the multi-course lunches provided)..."
- Peter and Margaret C. (Vietnam, January 2011)

" We would just like to offer our sincere thanks for the wonderful holiday we have just returned from in South Vietnam. We can quite honestly say that this was a superb holiday and one we enjoyed immensely.
Dragon Travel's arrangements were first class. The hotels, the flights and especially our guide, Win. We would just like to add here that she is exceptional in her job. Her attention to detail and care of her 'charges' is outstanding. The trips, meals and the calm easy way in which the tour was carried out was very much appreciated by us both.
We adored Vietnam and the South Vietnamese people. Phu Quoc island was a dream come true for us. We would most definitely wish to return to La Veranda Hotel. The only problem with the holiday is that we would have liked to have stayed for a longer period!
Once again, thank you for a splendid job."
- Mr. and Mrs. I.C. (Vietnam November/December 2010)

" This is just a note to thank you all at Dragon Travel for our superb 15 day tour to Myanmar in November/December 2010. We visited Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay, Pindaya and Inle Lake, the itinerary was excellent, the hotels were superb and the guides and the drivers were so helpful, informative and kind. My wife and I had a wonderful time with the highlight of the tour being Bagan, the area is like something out of a dream and it really is a photographer's paradise, the Burmese people are some of the friendliest, kindest and marvellous people that I have encountered and they really made us feel totally welcome, they are a total credit. A wonderful tour which we both thoroughly enjoyed, Myanmar is such a beautiful country and we are so very glad that we decided to go there. A very big thank you to Mr Ki Shieu and Mr R. Davies for putting such a great itinerary together with every detail covered and ensuring that both my wife and I had yet another trip of a lifetime."
- Mr. and Mrs. J.M (Myanmar November/December 2010)

" Just to say what a fantastic experience we had in Vietnam and Cambodia. From our first contact with Dragon, documentation was immaculate and the same attention to detail was given on our tour. Hotels were superb, meals included were excellent and the choice of guides was brilliant. We would certainly recommend Dragon to anyone wanting to travel to the far east."
- Philip and June (Vietnam/Cambodia, November 2010)

" We have just returned from our tour of Myanmar having had a wonderful holiday adventure. The itinerary you prepared for us was comprehensive and varied enough for us to glimpse many of the facets of Myanmar, its history, the people, food and even the variation in climate. Mary and I did enjoy and appreciate your attention to detail in giving us a range of visits, sights, accommodation and entertainment.
The travel arrangements were professionally and expertly organised and the timing of the Burmese airline impeccable..,the accommodation you chose for us was impressive and once again, refreshingly varied. The standards were remarkably high and easily rivalled any accommodation we have enjoyed during out travels in the USA, Hawaii, Egypt, Europe and even the UK.
The guides you provided were very good indeed and all spoke a good standard of English, were personable, informative and caring of our welfare and interests. We were advised on food, climate, bargaining and even on the quality of souvenir goods and this made us feel valued and appreciated as visitors... I congratulate and thank you for providing for us a thoroughly professional, efficient organisation of an exciting, entertaining holiday adventure and we look forward with great anticipation to our future tours with your company."
- Mr. and Mrs. M.P. (Myanmar November 2010)

" We would like to thank you for organising a fantastic adventure for us during our 21 days in Vietnam. It was early starts and very full days but so very interesting, The drivers and guides were brilliant and really made our 21 days very special and enjoyable."
- Mr. H.M (Vietnam November 2010)

" We are writing to thank you for organising a wonderful holiday for us in Thailand and Vietnam - it was fascinating and truly a great experience. The hotels you selected for us were superb and our tour programme was very interesting. Huge changes are taking place in Vietnam and we were so glad to have gone before it becomes too Westernised. The people we met were so friendly, cheerful, and hard-working, that it was a delight to see them. We particularly enjoyed Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, and the Mekong Delta... Overall, it was a very good trip and very well organised by your company. We would have no hesitation in recommending your services to our friends."
- Mr. and Mrs. M.D. (Vietnam November 2010)

" Everything was very well organised. The standard of accommodation, meals were good. The guides were all very nice people with local knowledge and were willing to help us. We had a fantastic experience in Myanmar and will use Dragon Travel in the future."
- Mr. and Mrs. M.P. (Myanmar November 2010)

" ...We enjoyed our holiday very much and everything went like clockwork. All the guides were very good... I must say that Cambodia was fantastic and we would definitely visit again..."
- Mr. & Mrs. C.A. (Vietnam & Cambodia November 2010)

" A very informative and enjoyable tour. Your organisation of our tour was excellent. The drivers were very obliging and helpful. The tour guides were very knowledgable and made our tour very much more than we had expected. Mr. Thanh was extremely helpful to Mrs. M. in assisting her with stairs and boarding trains and boats. Thank you for an unforgettable tour.
Mr.Shieu and his colleague in Cardiff were also very helpful in answering our questions before we made our booking. All in all a very well run organisation."
- Mr. and Mrs. H.M. (Vietnam October 2010)

"Hi Ki and Rob, Just thought we'd let you have our thoughts on our recent trip to Vietnam. First of all i'd like to say that we were nervous about booking with a 'smaller travel company' online in the current economic climate but we did all the sensible checks that anyone shoud do when booking online. We were not disappointed in any way with the organisation, so thanks for that.
We have organised and booked our own trips to other more westernised countries before but felt that we needed some extra support on a trip to the Far East and we are glad that we paid that bit extra for the personal and excellent service we received. Both the guides (Sam in Hanoi and Wynn(not how its spelt!) in Ho Chi Minh) were very good and genuinely frindly and helpful, their family stories/experiences brought to life some of the history of Vietnam.
I could never be persuaded to drive in Vietnam and when you visit you will see why! but our drives were always safe. The traffic in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh are definately a culture shock but you sort of get used to it and when you come home you miss the beeping horns. The guides both taught us how to cross the roads, but i was still nervous.
Although the whole holiday was fabulous, the jewel in the crown has to be the trip to Halong bay, if you can afford it then book the overnight cruise and have the boat to yourself and get to experience how the other half live! The food on the boat was outstanding, the 5 crew were marvellous and then there was the gorgeous surroundings....
All the restaurants we visited were great and all the food excellent. I do have to mention the visit to the farmers house in the Mekong Delta as oustanding also. You can't beat home cooked food.
One surprise was the first night in Ho Chi MInh when the itinerary said we'd be eating at a local restaurant. It turned out to be a dinner cruise down the Saigon river!, again excellent.
We both loved going down the Mekong Delta and experienceing the traditional crafts such as wine making, pop rice making and the rice sweets. Our final few days were spent at the seaside! at Phan Tiet and we were ready to relax after the full but not too hectic schedule. What a gem the Sailing Club of Mui Ne was. Excellent food , staff and surroundings. The Sunway in Hanoi is very genuinely friendly and the breakfasts great and we stayed at The Grand in Ho Chi Minh which was indeed 'grand', the only thing us Brits have to get used to is that smoking is allowed in restaurants. I'd finally say, DO visit Vietnam, take in as much of the traditional cultural things on offer(they are always the best) and let Dragon Travel help you. You won't be disappointed."
- Ruth and Keith (Vietnam September 2010)

" I am writing this from the departure lounge at Phnom Penh airport, at the end of what has been a truly wonderful trip. I just wanted to let you know how happy we have been with the whole thing - the itinerary you put together for us, and the various guides and drivers around the voyage.
Thanks once again for helping us to have an amazing honeymoon, and a journey that we will never forget."
- Andy & Liz. (Thailand, Vietnam & Cambodia July/August 2010)"

" An excellent trip, we were very well looked after by all our guides, had good accomodation and being the low season actually had the rooms with the best view in every place we stayed.
Thanks again to your office in Laos, they were incredibly kind and thoughtful. When our 16 yr old had an upset stomach for just one day, the guide had clearly, without our knowledge phoned the boss who later phoned us personally to offer a doctor etc etc.. none of it was necessary but it was very reassuring to have that support and care shown. Similarly when I stupidly left a bag of baskets in the car when we flew south (and the car then drove to Luang Prabang) the guide arranged for the baskets to be sent back to Vientiane to await our return 5 days later from Pakse. Someone then specially brought them to the airport to meet us as we checked in for our return flight. Real service - putting themselves out hugely for us.
The guides were all well informed, ensuing we saw exactly what we wanted, buying us the local delicacies without being asked - showing us parts of Laos off the beaten track as well as the well worn routes. The drivers careful and very capable on the long journeys, dealing with the seemingly endless hairpin bends and landslides with calm composure and skill. All accomodation was fine, most excellent and I'm sorry to say we've all actually put on weight! The food was delicious so we ate 3 full meals every day!
The country is in transition which made it even more fascinating, from calm Buddhist temples to Arlak villages with their animal sacrifices; the mud splattered giggling children living in bamboo huts climbing on the ubiquitous satellite dish propped up outside their home, while inside their older sisters sat in a bare room watching Thai soap operas. How they themselves coped with the contrast in what they were seeing and what they actually experienced we were never quite sure. One thing was clear - everyone was welcoming - everyone greeted you "sabaydee", hello as if we all lived in a small village not a large country. Yet I suspect that in a few years all will be different, although we saw few Europeans (apart from Vang Vien) it is quite evident that they are gearing up well for a massive influx of tourists - so go now while the charm lasts.
Thank you again."
- Ms. C.E-W (Laos August 2010)

" We've been back from our travels around Indochina for a few days now and I just wanted to thank you for the quality of the arrangements made by Dragon Travel. We had a fantastic - if exhausting - time! The local agents were excellent, and we felt we were leaving behind friends when we went on to the next stage of our journey - quite emotional in some cases! .... Highlights of the trip were Angkor, Laos and Sapa. I'm now sifting through the 2,200 photographs I took! A very memorable trip, superbly organised - especially when considering how late we booked! - Maureen and Geraint J. (Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos July/August 2010)

" Not knowing what to expect, we are delighted that our holiday [Myanmar Discovery 7 days] was wonderful. The organisation has been first class. The guides spoke excellent English, were very informative, very helpful and could not have been better. The meals have been excellent, the hotels top class and everything has conspired to make this an utterly memorable and very special holiday. We shall recommend this tour to our friends and acquaintances and wish everyone well who has helped to make it such a success."
- Mr. A.F. (Myanmar July 2010)

" We have just returned from our holiday in Vietnam / Cambodia and I am writing to say thank you for organizing such a wonderful trip for us. The holiday exceeded our expectations. The guides were all very professional, informative and helpful. The whole trip ran very smoothly. There was a good balance between organized time and free time. Hotels and food were all good.
Your service from start to finish was excellent and I'll not hesitate to recommend your company to other people.
Kind regards,"
- Mrs. L.I. (May 2010)

" [Borneo] Excellent trip - an amazing experience seeing 'man of the forest' up close as he walked over to the viewing platform...the guides at all times were extremely knowledgable and ready to answer questions on all matters...In Kutching Edward was very knowledgable and helpful. He was very friendly and patient as we are not as young as we used to be...all in all he made our stay very special...[Kuala Lumpur] I cannot compliment Jackson enough. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome and to meet our wishes. His local knowledge is excellent taking us to places not on the itinerary which he believed would interest us."
- Mr. R.L. & Mrs. H.M. (Malaysia May 2010)

" I must tell you I had a fantastic time in Vietnam. Everything went like clockwork and the guides were really great... I will recommend Dragon travel to anyone thinking of going to Vietnam."
- Mr.P.K. (May.2010)

" Well we are back home and just about over our jetlag. We were a bit dubious about an escorted trip as we are very independent and like to sort things out for ourselves. In Vietnam the help and support you arranged was needed and much appreciated. Our 3 guides and drivers were exceptional. The way they appeared instantly when required but disappeared when we preferred to be on our own was amazing. Our hotels were all at least good, some excellent and one, Le Domaine de Tam Hai" truely exceptional, the most fantastic place we have ever stayed. With just one exception all the included meals were great as well. We have been lucky enough to travel to many parts of the world and this trip was the most fascinating we have made. When we booked our trip we thought maybe it was a bit on the expensive side, but having experienced the level of personal service we received we now know we were wrong. The trip was worth every penny. Having enjoyed all the "must see" sights we are now thinking about looking a little more off the beaten track. maybe we'll set you that challenge in a year or two. Kind regards,"
- Pete & Pat M. (Apr.2010)

" [Volcano ash problems] You probably already know that we were all offered flights for an additional flight back to Manchester last night which we grabbed. Bonus was they even laid on coaches back to London for us all. I am writing this to you from sunny Chatham! As you say quality will out and we cannot have anything but praise for SIA who really looked after us.
Also wanted to thank you all again at Dragon for all that you did at your end and those in Cambodia, we would have been struggling without all your help. Very much appreciated.
Setting aside the incidents of the last 6 days it has been a most enjoyable holiday, all very well organised and we have been made to feel very special. The hotels, flights, guides and drivers along with all the attractions have given us an extremely memorable holiday, not to mention 2 new friends in Chris and Anne, so thank you all again very much. A superb holiday.
We hope to be able to use you again in the future if/when we venture back to Asia."
- Mr.& Mrs. S.K. (Apr.2010)

" In general the holiday was excellent and the guides and drivers were very good. We spent longer with Nara and Mr Kim so got to know them a little better but that is taking nothing away from the first pair (we called them both Chum as the nearest we could get) who were always ready to go the extra mile too.
If I was being really picky, one lunch stop - the very first in Siem Reap if I recall - was a bit naff but other than that we had very good meal stops. The [name of hotel] was a bit quirky - difficult to understand at times who was a guest, staff member or general hanger-on ...small complaints in an otherwise great experience. Good value for money too.
Well done! I'll be looking on your web site to see where else you can take us."
- Mr.I.McB. (Apr.2010)

" I have been meaning to send you a note since our return to UK. The holiday was fantastic and the weather very kind. All worked well, including the very early flight from Hanoi to Hue. Our guides were polite, courteous and careful, particularly Pham Xuan Vu, the man from Hue... So a wonderful holiday, well organised by yourselves. We have already recommended to a number of friends. "
-Mr. & Mrs. M.D. (Mar.2010)

" Overall, our trip to Cambodia has been excellent - one of our best experiences ever. The contents of the tour were ideal in our opinion - so a big thank you."
- Mr.D.H. (Mar.2010)

" Just to say we had the most wonderful trip to Myanmar! What an experience everything went like clockwork! The guides and drivers were 100%. It is a wonderful country the people very soft and gentle, if had to pick my favorite site I think Bagan the temples etc you just could not describe...Hope to travel with you in the future. "
-Ms B.L and Mr.D.S. (Mar.2010)

" It seems a little inadequate to say thank you only once when we have had so many treats.

We have had very good to outstanding guides and excellent drivers, they were kind enough to vary the schedule to include the river dolphin trip in Southern Laos. And the picnic at Tad Khuang Sii was a wonderful surprise....

One other thing we noticed was that the guides were aware that you kept a careful eye on the tour to see that we were properly looked after. Thank you yet again. Cancelled flights [due to snow in Manchester] and forgetting where the car was parked just add to a list of wonderful memories. We hope we can use your services again in the future. "
-Mr.and Mrs. D.S. (Feb.2010)

" This is to let you know that all the arrangements you made for our holiday went without a hitch. We were very happy indeed with the itinery, the guides and drivers, and the accommodation. For all that was included, we also thought it was excellent value. Full marks."
- Mr.and Mrs. H.S. (Feb.2010)

" Dear both, Just a message to tell you what a wonderful trip we had to Vietnam and Cambodia. There were no problems at all- all our flights were on time, the guides were always there to meet us, the food was always good and the hotels excellent - we only wish we could have had more time to enjoy them! It was quite an action packed tour, and very often our fault for making the days longer by chatting too much to the guides! They were very lenient with their time and ready to talk and stop to show us interesting activities or sights en route. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. We went out for a meal with Vu in the central region and had a lovely evening and had great fun with Trong and her driver in the south. Drivers were all good and helpful. Enjoyed Hoi-an and Siem Reap very much. No complaints really except that it was too short! Thank you for a great trip. Hopefuly we will use your company again in the future. Many thanks. "
-John, Auriol, Arfon and Sian (Feb.2010)

" A note to thank you for organising a wonderful holiday in Cambodia and Thailand....our guides in both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap were first-class - full of information about the sites we visited and willing to talk freely about a wide range of matters about their country's past, present and future which we regard as being as important as the set pieces. Drivers and cars were good, too... Hotels were spot on.
So overall, terrific. We will happily recommend you as our son did for us.
Many thanks and best wishes,."
- John and Judith E. (Jan.2010)

" We returned from our trip last Monday and wanted to give our feed-back on an excellent holiday - thank-you!
The organisation was superb - we were met without fail on every occasion. The guides, the vehicles and drivers were all of a very high standard. We opted for the three star hotels, uncertain as to how that would translate, but again the hotels were all very good. The itinerary was busy, with little free time to just absorb the different places, but we appreciate how much was packed in to a three week trip, and how the effect of building in more "down-time" would impact on both the length and cost.
We DID find that where lunch and dinner were part of the day that there was just too much food! In Luang Prabang we swapped the dinner to a day when we just had a picnic lunch. That said, again the food provided was very good, the restaurants generally of a high standard.
We would like to thank you all at Dragon Travel for a terrific trip. The pre-holiday care was superb, the detail on the itinerary was great on detail, enabling us to "gen up" on the following days activities and, as previously stated, the people who looked after us and the various facilities we used were fabulous! We would have no hesitation in recommending Dragon Travel to any of our friends. "
-Robert and Val C. (Jan.2010)

" We’re safely back to what seems a very cold UK after our 3 fabulous weeks in Laos.
We would like to thank you and the team, both UK and Laos for making our holiday all we could have wished. The itinerary was perfect and gave us a great insight to this fascinating country. The friendly people, stunning scenery, culture and great tour guides made this a holiday never to be forgotten and one we would highly recommend to others.
All in all, fabulous.."
- Steve and Ruth T. Laos Dec.2009

" We have enjoyed many years of reasonably extensive global travel. This year we decided that our target was Vietnam and, that being over 60 now, we would need some support rather than to undertake a DIY trip. What a truly wonderful and memorable experience!

Having consulted high street travel agents and pored over guide books we trawled the Internet looking for a likely agent to help us with a tailor made trip. How glad we are now that we chose Dragon Tours; From the outset, Ki was friendly and helpful and prepared to meet all our needs (from adding on to or modifying the suggested "standard" itinerary arrangements or organising on-the-ground details like finding us a suitable "24 hrs. made to measure tailor" in Hoi An). He knows Vietnam intimately from personal experience and is available at the end of a 'phone or email to advise, whereas alternative holiday vendors are not or cannot.

Our final excursion details for the 19 days, (which included locations from the Chinese border in the North and down to the Mekong Delta in the South) matter less than the ease with which our trip was organised and facilitated.

The entire trip was faultless - it "did exactly what it said on the tin"! We merely had to be available after breakfast, in order to meet up with our guide and driver to be taken by car in air-conditioned comfort to the next site. Driving challenges in Vietnam would not be taken on by the sane visitor! The language is at the very least "tricky" to even get by in and whilst English is spoken by some in e.g. hotels, then the services of a guide were certainly worthwhile. Generally we opted for a "busy" itinerary but within it there were suitable periods of "time at leisure". We were glad that we had had the forethought to request a final three nights R and R on the idyllic coast before the long journey home to Scotland.

OK, it cost a bit more than the offerings of some of the big operators, but not that much and the freedom / flexibility / protection from hassle etc. etc. would be difficult to put a balancing price on. If you are tempted to make a visit then we urge you strongly to consider this option. "
- Chris and Frances B., Dumfries, Scotland (Nov. 2009)

" I just wanted to let you know that Ken and myself and Keith and Sandra B. have just returned from our trip to Vietnam and I wanted to congratulate you on providing us with a fantastic holiday experience.
We realised from the very beginning when we began the booking process that you provide a very professional service with great attention to detail and very friendly contact. However, the holiday itself exceeded our expectations, with the hotels, transport and local guides and drivers providing us with an exceptional experience. The three local guides; Sam,Vu and Thuy were knowledgeable and friendly and eager to assist in any way to improve our stay. The fact that we were in a small group meant that when we were visiting large sites of interest we were able to avoid the crowds and have a better insight and understanding.(particularly important to Ken who has a hearing problem, but it was never an issue during this holiday).
Once again, I wish to thank all the staff involved for a superb experience, and assure you that we will recommend you to our friends. We look forward to travelling with you again at some time in the future."
- Sue and Ken P. Vietnam Nov. 2009

" Thank you for your superb efficiency in arranging our holiday to Vietnam and Cambodia. We were a little wary of booking with a smaller company which we happened to find on the internet, but having grown disillusioned with two large companies on previous trips to Indochina, we decided to book with you. We were largely influenced by the very positive feedback on your web-site, which seemed to be very genuine. We were very impressed by the manner in which you kept us informed of any changes in flights, etc., and updates of the programme.
The itinerary was greatly understated as the sights, the people, the hotels, food, transport, all exceeded our expectations. Everything went like clockwork and we had a truly wonderful time. Our personal favourites were Ha Long Bay and Angkor Wat and Thom. The people met us with smiles and kindness. They were fastidiously clean and regarded service as a pleasure. As one guide commented, " Out here, the tourist is God."
With our best wishes, "
-Mr.and Mrs. P.L. Cambodia Nov. 2009

" Our driver was very careful and very safe even on difficult or bumpy roads. Our guide was very friendly and helpful and gave us a lot of very interesting information about Cambodia, its history and culture. We enjoyed our trip very much and they took great care to look after us."
-Mr.and Mrs. F.E. Cambodia Nov. 2009

" What a wonderful part of the trip so far. Could not ask for a better guide and driver, Halong Bay was brilliant. Thank you so much!"
-Mrs. L.W. Vietnam Nov. 2009

" [Northern VN] Our trip was excellent and our guide especially so. He was charming, informative and very good company...[Mid VN] We have had a wonderful trip, our guide was very friendly and helpful. The hotel and food were excellent. All in all the trip was excellent value for money and one which we would definitely repeat."
-Mrs. F.W. Vietnam Nov. 2009

" We had a wonderful time in a beautiful country. The tour guides, hotels and food were excellent and a big thank you to Dragon Travel for making this such a wonderful holiday.

We are certainly looking to return back to the far east for our 2010 holiday. "
-Mr.and Mrs. I.J. Vietnam November.2009

" We would like to record our thanks to you for arranging the holiday of our lifetime (so far). We thoroughly enjoyed almost every aspect of the trip.

We were particularly impressed by the smooth organisation. We were met promptly at every airport (despite flooding in Siem Reap), our guides and drivers were of high quality and all elements of the trip (planes, boats, trains and cars!) went like clockwork. We felt very well cared for. We were pleasantly surprised to get a visit from Mr Dinh before we boarded the train for Sapa and a couple of calls from him in Hanoi when there was some doubt about whether the Ha Long junk would be able to sail. The hotels were uniformly good and we particularly liked the Tara at Siem Reap and the Sunway in Hanoi......

....We had a wonderful time, and would willingly visit both countries again. If we do so, we will certainly ask you to arrange it."
-Mr.and Mrs. P.G Vietnam and Cambodia Sept.2009

" Just wanted to touch base to say that we are safely back from the most stunning trip to China and Tibet. Congratulations on your faultless organization. There were no glitches or hold-ups, all the hotels were fine and the itinerary was brilliant. We had some fantastic guides who really went the extra mile and organised extra events, especially evening trips to ballet/acrobatics/'minorities' dancing and making music etc.... Overall a remarkable experience, worth every penny. Where do we go from here? "
-Dr. and Mrs. A.N. China August 2009

" I would like to thank you and your counterparts in Vietnam for such a well organised and enjoyable holiday. Our guide in the North, Ta dang Thai, was exceptional, full of enthusiasm, information and humour. The places we visited in the North too were awesome, with beautiful scenery and colourful people. The menus which were chosen as part of the tour arrangements were, in Mr Thai's words "delicious", I cannot think of a better one!
Our journey around Central Vietnam was also very memorable, with another great guide, Pham Xuan Vu, who showed us some exquisite historical sites and wonderful views. The restaurants and food again were exceptional.
Although our final day was cut short due to a flight cancellation, the company was able to secure places for us on another plane so that we didn't miss our connecting flights home. We were particularly grateful for the professionalism shown to us at this time by the tour company in Vietnam.
All the hotels we stayed in were very comfortable and of a very high standard, and situated in the most convenient locations for us to explore on our own. We found the Vietnamese people to be very welcoming and we never felt unsafe in any way.
It was a fantastic trip through a fascinating country and we are left with some wonderful memories which will last a lifetime. Thank you again. "
-Mrs. H.H. Vietnam August 2009

" Thank you both so very much for all the excellent arrangements that you put in place for my recent holiday to Cambodia and Laos. It was a priviledge to have a glimpse into the history, culture and lifestlye of both beautiful countries and their people. The hotels that you selected were perfect and the guides and drivers that assisted me were knowledgeable, helpful and wonderful company.

From the magic of the architectural masterpiece that is Angkor Wat, to the flowing of the Mekong past my windows at the floating hotel, the two weeks was full of wonders untold. If I had the time and money I would start from the beginning and do the whole thing again!!

I look forward to further holidays through your company in the future and once again thank you for your professionalism and unwavering help.

With best regards. Ms.J.W. July 2009

" You and your company did a great job! "
-Mr.and Mrs. K.S. Myanmar July 2009

" The all-too-brief stay in Siem Reap has been excellent. Our guide spoke excellent English and was interesting and knowledgable about Angkor Wat and Cambodia in general. Angkor Wat and its surrounds were stunning! "
-Mr. M.E. Cambodia June 2009

" Really enjoyed this VN part of our trip. Tran, our guide, was excellent. Her knowledge of her country and the sights we went to was 1st class....highlights for me were the Cu Chi tunnels and cruising the Mekong. "
-Mr. M.E. Vietnam June 2009

" Hi Ki - we just wanted to let you know that we had an absolutely fantastic time in Vietnam - what a truly amazing country it is. The people were so friendly and polite and the driver we had was an excellent driver - how he does it on a daily basis is a wonder! The tour guide was also a very pleasant and very well informed man - they both made our first week a very memorable time. All of the accommodation was excellent and the food provided on the tour and breakfast was beyond our expectations.

The package was indeed exceptional value for money and we wouldnt hesitate to arrange another trip with yourselves in the future - in fact, we are recommending you to our friends and family.

Thank you very much for making our 25th wedding anniversary such a memorable occasion. "
-Paul and Angela R Vietnam April 2009

" It has all been very good. Our guide is excellent - helpful, friendly and knowledgable
-Mrs. S.T. Vietnam April 2009

" We have now returned after an excellent trip well organised and as my wife said it was 'a trip of a lifetime'. Many thanks for all your efforts."
Regards, Graeme
Mr.and Mrs.G.A. March 2009

" A HUGE thank you to you both for organising a simply wonderful holiday. Everything was beautifully organised and went perfectly and thank you for helping us at the end when the flights changed - we benefitted from that but we did not expect another guided day and dinner - it was much appreciated and we will recommend you very highly if our friends want to go there. Cambodia is on the news very much now. We loved the countries and were deeply touched by the guide's life stories. many thanks again,
Yours sincerely, June "
-Mrs. J.W. Thailand, Cambodia and Laos March 2009

" Catriona and I have just returned from our holiday, which was memorable in every aspect.

The arrangements that you made for us worked like clockwork. In all we passed through three countries, had eight flights, two boat trips and stopped at eight hotels. At every stop we were met by guides who were knowledgeable and helped smooth us through any difficulties.

It’s hard to pick out a single highlight but our greatest memories are of the Elephant sanctuary in the Golden Triangle, our boat trip down the Mekong to Luang Prabang followed by a wonderful week in the World Heritage town. We were really impressed to visit the waterfalls of Southern Laos as the Mekong crashed over the rocks and then to finish our holiday with the wonders of Angkor Wat and the temples of the Khmer civilisation. The hotels we stayed at were also pretty special particularly the Anantara in the Golden Triangle and La Residence in Luang Prabang and Siem Reap. We would also recommend a short stay at La Follie Lodge opposite Champasak as an ideal place to chill out.

Thank you again for your assistance in organising a most wonderful holiday "
-Mr.and Mrs. P.B Thailand, Laos and Cambodia February 2009

" Just a very short message to thank you for fixing us up with such a fabulous holiday.
All the arrangements went like clockwork and we had an absolutely super time. Without exception the guides were all excellent at their job but also were really nice interesting people whose company we greatly enjoyed. Please pass our thanks to all concerned. "
-Tim and Christine Vietnam February 2009

" Having just returned from our holiday in Vietnam and Cambodia, I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our time there. The organisation of the holiday was excellent and the flights with Thai Airways were especially good - so much better than BA!

We were so well looked after by all our guides, who were all very informative and knowlegable, and our drivers. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we felt very pampered! The hotels on the whole were very good. Top of the list was the Tara Angkor, which was superb in every way. Halong Bay was our least favourite, but it was only for 1 night and it was more than made up for by the beautiful bay and our boat trip.

The food throughout was also very good in both Vietnam and Cambodia - we will now be going in search of some cookbooks on V and C cuisine! We felt the range of locations gave us an insight into the Vietnamese and Cambodian ways of life and the friendly people. In hindsight, we may have opted for 2 or 3 fewer temple visits, but as we only booked it a few weeks in advance, we didn't leave ourselves much time to change anything.

We were also very pleased to have had the opportunity to visit the War Museum and the Cu Chi tunnels in Vietnam, and the Toul Sleng Museum of Genocide and Killing Fields in Cambodia. Although these were very harrowing and upsetting places, we feel we now have a very much better understanding of both countries' tragic recent histories. We can only admire the way in which the Vietnamese and Cambodian people are moving forward with such determination.

Our holiday has given us a very rich set of experiences and with all that was packed into it, it seemed as if we were away for 16 weeks, rather than just 16 days! Our thanks and congratulations to you and your organisation. We will definitely be recommending Dragon Travel and, funds permitting, travel with you again."
-Mr.and Mrs. S.R. Cambodia February 2009

" [Hanoi] ...Another visit made special again because of the quality of the guide - a serious professional when explaining the history and customs of Vietnam, excellent relationship established quickly where jokes and good humour added to the enjoyment. Everything was so well organised - calmly and with kindness.
As for the hospital crisis, I shall always remember everyone's care at all levels and especially the guide who had to think quickly and reorganise everything. We were very sad to leave North VN. "
-Mrs.S.B. Vietnam February 2009

" [Hanoi] We have had an amazing 36 hours in Hanoi. Tan, our young guide has been an absolute mine of information not only about Hanoi but about about Vietnam, its history and past and present way of life. He readily adapted the itinerary to suit our wishes. My wife was particularly grateful for the way Tan kept us safe when crossing Hanoi's busy streets!...[HCMC] Trang, our charming guide was excellent. It was a bonus to have a femail guide for a change. She was able to tell us about the feminine aspects of Vietnamese society. She was also an absolute mine of information about everything else. Both day's excursions were memorable. The lunch stops on each of the three days were fantastic, best of the whole trip....[Siem Reap] Chanthla, our guide has been excellent and very professional. He selected the temples for us to visit at Angkor prefectly and we had a memorable day. We also liked the visit to the reclining Buddha and mixing with the local people at the waterfall."
-Mr.and Mrs. T.N Vietnam, and Cambodia, February 2009

" We have had the most amazing time here - the guide's knowledge was exceptional. many thanks."
-Mrs.A.R. Cambodia February 2009

" Just a note to say thank you for all your hard work putting our trip together which we thoroughly enjoyed. It all worked out really well. "
-Mrs. S.C. Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, January 2009

" My wife and I are now returned from our holiday in Taiwan and Thailand. We had a wonderful time and would like to thank you and your staff for making all the arrangements. Everything went to plan and our guide, Boon, in Thailand was excellent.
Hopefully we shall contact you next year to plan our next Far Eastern holiday. "
-Mr.J.N. Thailand January 2009

" The organisation throughout was impeccable - every flight on time, always met by knowledgable guides, road transport of a high quality, as were the hotels and the food. (the weather was good too!!)
..thanks again for an excelllent introduction to Indochina. "
-Mr. A.R. Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, January 2009

" A very belated thank you for an excellent trip to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos last November. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. We were met at the airports by our very pleasant guides and given a very good tour of the various sites in each country. Everything went according to plan and we would not hesitate in recommending your company to our friends.
Thank you
-Mr.and Mrs. A.C. Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, January 2009

" The Laos leg of our holiday was splendid and we would like to praise the excellent guides and the efficient local agents in Laos. Our first guide, Mr Somcghanh Phongsanith, has an excellent command of English, and proved to be first class in every respect. He couldn't do enough to help and advise us. His information about Luang Prabang was "spot on" we were very comfortable with him when we visited the local villages. Our second guide, Khamson, met us in Vientiane and we were mutually delighted that he had been our guide some two years previously. We said we wanted to come back and he was delighted we had fulfilled our wish...
Please could you pass on our comments to the local offices in Laos as we found these guides excellent in every respect. The drivers, too, were extremely good, in particular our last driver who worked with Khamson. Incidentally, the Wat Phou cruise was delightful. Another e.mail will follow shortly to discuss future plans. With kind regards "
-Mr.and Mrs. E.K. Laos and Cambodia, January 2009

" Just a short note to thank you and your agency for arranging a fantastic tour for me and my boys. We throughly enjoyed our holiday. All of the guides were professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. Everything went like clock work. Once again thank you very much and I hope we can make use of your services again at the end of this year. "
-Mr. K.H. Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, December 2008

" We would like you to know that we enjoyed our holiday to Thailand and Cambodia very much. All the hotels were good with no problems on check- in. The representatives in each place were helpful and pleasant. It is difficult to think of anything which could have been better. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Kanchanburi on the train and the rafts on the river. The few days in Cambodia were interesting especially the trip out in the lake. We also thought your choice of hotel there was perfect.
Thank you very much for arranging the holiday and for your advice. Please call me if you want any further feed-back. We are now hoping to visit Vietnam next time! "
-Mrs.S.S Thailand and Cambodia, December 2008

" We had a great holiday overall and I just wanted to praise Boon our main guide throughout the trip. He may not have been the most knowledgeable guide we have had, in the sense that his descriptive knowledge was not great, but frankly that was no issue for us. He made up for that in so many other ways. He always ensured we got a good room in the hotels; he always ensured we got the best table at restaurants and shows and he was totally flexible, when we got a bit “templed out” and he even suggested alternatives. He could not be more accommodating. By the Tuesday before our departure on the Saturday we started to think about whether we would be able to return via Bangkok or whether we would need to find an alternative way home.[civil unrest at Bangkok airport]. Here again he was as helpful as possible, phoning up Thai Airways every day to confirm our flight home and ensure we had allocated seats on our return flight. There was even a question whether we would need to stay in Chiang Mai for the last night instead of Chang Rai fearing there would be no return plane from Chang Rai. As it happened all went like clockwork with no disruption to our holiday. I am sure we have Boon to thank for that. "
-Mr.and Mrs. C.C. Thailand, December 2008

" Thank you for organising a very enjoyable tour for us.
All the Myanmar guides were lovely and meals were provided at the best restaurants. The balloon ride in Bagan was a truly amazing experience and should be highly recommended. We also took a horse drawn cart at Bagan and it was delightful; much nicer than travelling by car.
Inle Lake was stunning. Apart from the engines on the tourist canoes the lake would have looked exactly the same hundreds of years ago, so clean and quiet....
Phnom Penh was full of buzz and on our free day the guide arranged a TucTuc to spend all day with us. We were taken to the central market with its incredible fine architecture and the National Museum; both places are an absolute must for a visit and the TucTuc is so comfortable and cool and so easy to take photographs from.
We were so sad to see so few tourists, especially UK ones, to Myanmar. We will tell all our friends they should go there and recommend your company. "
Mr.and Mrs. F.S. Myanmar and Cambodia December 2008

" We were extremely pleased with your organisation of the whole thing, everything went absolutely smoothly, we were met at the right times and places where appropriate etc...... As far as the hotels were concerned we were happy to have chosen in your lowest category, they were all good, some very minor gripes.
As far the return journey was concerned you know the details.[Closure of Bangkok airports through civil unrest]. The problem with Thai air and Bangkok could not have been foreseen and was nobodies fault. However the way you and your agent handled it was first class. In situations like that it's communications that counts so one does not have the feeling of being abandoned. You kept me informed from your end and I would like you to pass on my personal thanks and appreciations to "Dinh". He phoned me two or three times a day giving me the flight alternatives he was working on, he went to Thai air office to sort things out and he negotiated successfully a free extension with the hotel until 6PM. A first class performance from him and I would like you to pass this on to him. He even phoned us when we were at the airport on Saturday night to check everything was OK.
As you can tell we would certainly travel with you again. We have Laos and Cambodia on our list which I think you cover. It probably won't be for a couple of years as we have other plans for the immediate future but I will certainly contact you again at the appropriate time. "
-Mr. P.F. Vietnam, November/December 2008

" Our trip was - in every respect - outstanding and both [my wife] and I are singing the praises not only of the countries visited but also for the organisation of the trip by Dragon Travel and particularly by Ki Shieu. From start to finish our holiday was what we had hoped and one can not expect better than that!

Specifically worthy of mention are:
The attention of Mr Shiu in drawing up the package to best meet our needs.
The clear and concise paperwork associated with the holiday and its timely delivery.
Excellent choice of hotels and of guides.
Your response and that of your local agent and the flexibility shown in meeting our needs when we were 'on the road'; eg cutting short our stay in Ho Tram by a day and the appointment of a new guide for our stay in HCMC.
The super cookery course arranged for my wife in HCMC.

In short, so many highlights and so much to remember, all brought about by your office here in UK and in situ; thank you. We will have no hesitation in recommending Dragon Travel to others and of hopefully using your offices again for our appetite for the Far East whetted! "
-Mr.and Mrs. P.R. Vietnam and Cambodia, November 2008

" The guide was very helpful and knowledgable and friendly, and the drivers were vert competant in the city traffic--- The experience overall of Cambodia and its people was excellent. "
-Mr.R.L and Mrs.H.M. Vietnam and Cambodia, November 2008

" Just to let you know it went like "CLOCKWORK" fantastic Holiday, Country, People and especially the guides Yen[Giang], Vu and John[Tuan].
Thanks again for a great Holiday "
-Mr.and Mrs. P.C. Vietnam, October 2008

" I fear I have been very remiss in not thanking you earlier for organising our trip. It has been fairly hectic since we got back, and I have only done a rough edit of our pictures so far. As usual with your organisation, everything went like clockwork, and we had a wonderful time, so once again thank you very much for everything...... "
-Mr.and Mrs.J.B.September 2008

" Now that I have been back from my China Tour a couple of weeks I just want to say what a unforgettable trip I had after the Olympic Games. I'm really pleased I did it. I was able to see some wonderful and different parts of the country and it was great to be able to see more of China than just Beijing. My guides and drivers were excellent and the itineries were interesting and comprehensive. "
-Mr.C.F. August 2008

" [Xian] Cynthia is a warm, friendly and knowledgeable guide. It's been a wonderful time in Xian...[Guilin] William is a charming knowledgable guide and it has been a wonderful experience being in Guilin/Yangshuo.. [Shanghai] Tracy is a knowledgable guide and I had a great time in Shanghai...[Beijing] John is friendly and knowledgable and it has been great spending time with him. "
-Mr.C.F. China, August 2008

" We very much enjoyed the Vietnam trip despite very heavy rain in and around Ho Chi Minh City. We thought it was arranged brilliantly in terms of getting in quite a lot of sight-seeing but also some R and R time, which the children in particular appreciated. The guides served us very well in both Ho Chi Minh and Hoi An. The hotel in Hoi An was really good, both a very relaxed atmosphere and excellent service and facilities, and I would go back there again anytime.

Thanks very much for all the thought and effort you put in to arranging the trip. I shall certainly recommend your services to others, and will contact you again if we are planning a similar trip in the future. "
-Mrs.S.F. August 2008

" Just want to say thanks for organizing a great trip for us at such short notice.
Everything went superb – all the timings were spot on and the guides and hotels were great.
A credit to your company and I would have no hesitation in recommending you if I hear of anyone contemplating a tour to Vietnam or Cambodia. "
-Mr.P.M. Vietnam and Cambodia, August 2008

" We have recently returned from our trip to Vietnam which was arranged by your company, we would like to congratulate you on the way it was organised, from the time we landed in Hanoi and was met by our first guide we were very well looked after, all three guides and drivers were excellent, polite, courteous and very informative, and willing to put themselves out in order to make our stay in Vietnam as enjoyable as possible, all of the trips were very good and very well organised, the choice of hotels was excellent, and to sum up, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and as well as hoping to use your company again in the future, we will highly recommend your services to our friends and family. "
-Mr.and Mrs.T.W. July 2008

" A thoroughly pleasurable experience. Our guide was outstanding and as well as being very informative she was very helpful in every way. She made this trip a very memorable experience. "
-Mr.T.W Vietnam, July 2008

" We all really enjoyed our stay in HCMC. We were very lucky to have Thoa as our guide. She desbribed the various sights in an interesting and informative way, sorted out problems when they arose and was really excellent with our teenage children....Well organised, wonderful tour. Informative guide. Happy to recommend to others, "
-Mr.P.R. July 2008

" An excellent, fascinating and very well organised experience. "
-Mr.C.B. Myanmar, June 2008

" The entire trip was very well organised and supported by excellent guides. They could not have been more helpful and did their best to ensure everything went to plan. A very interesting and enjoyable experience. "
-Mr.M.H. May 2008

" Many thanks for another wonderful holiday - Lucy and I enjoyed ourselves immensly - The guides and drivers were all excellent and very helpful and knowledgeable ...
...we were very grateful that a guide met us at Vientiene airport when we flew in from Pakse - we hadn't expected this as we were just passing through on our way to Luang Prabang (day 10) and expected to have to hang around the airport between connections - it was a very nice suprise to find that we were able to go to a decent restuarant and wonder around the shps for a couple of hours instead.
Once again, many thanks for a wonderful holiday - I am currently trying to sort out the photo's once I've done them - I'll put them all (and Vietnam ones from last year) onto a cd for you to select any suitable ones for use on your web page."
-Mr.V.W.May 2008

" I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our recent visit to Vietnam. It was a wonderful country and everything went very smoothly. The guides were most helpful and friendly and explained everything in a professional manner.
We have recommended Dragon Travel to a number of people since returning and look forward to using your services again in the future. ."
-Mr.and Mrs. M.L. May 2008

" Our first trip to Bangkok. Guide and driver were knowledgable and courteous. Driver skilled. Variety good. Pace too full at beginning but we adjusted. Ayuttaya Museum is a must - we almost missed seeing it. Mr.B. is a good and careful guide."
-Mr.S.P.March 2008

" We thought you may appreciate some feedback-if delayed- after our recent trip. We really enjoyed our experience of this well planned itinerary...
The chance of missing the boat journey down to Chiang Saen was worrying- in fact this trip is such a highlight we would suggest that in arranging trips for other clients you should strongly discourage departures in times of potential low water - it is such a fabulous day.
We would like to emphasise the success of our tour. The itinerary was excellent, the accommodation (with one exception) was great and the late change you made to our hotel in HCMC a success. The variety of river transport was indeed a highlight for our "Mekong Journey"."
-Mr.and Mrs. B.C. April 2008

" From north to south it has been a real trip of a lifetime!"
-Mr.and Mrs.J.S.March 2008

" We would like to take the guide home with us - he is wonderful. Driver skills excellent, felt completely safe and looked after so well."
-Mrs.L.W. March 2008

" Our guide - 'Happy' by name and by nature. A lovely, bubbly and fun person who went out of her way to make sure we had everything we could possibly need."
-Mrs.M.R. March 2008

" Many thanks for a great holiday. Just got back yesterday.
Your guides were very good as was the drivers and vehicles. The guides were all organised, considerate and full of knowledge. "
-Mr.S.V. March 2008

" I just wanted to write to tell you that we had a wonderful holiday, all thanks to your planning.
The travel was good, all flights on time and comfortable with the two hour transfer time in Hong Kong just in enough to stretch our legs. I am a complete convert to tailor made holidays and got so much from having personal guides in Ho Chi Minh City and Siem Reap. Never did we have to wait for anyone.
I will be writing separately to the tour companies Cambodia and Vietnam to tell them how much we enjoyed ourselves and how good we thought their guides and drivers were. I will remember our trip to Cambodia especially for the beauty of the country and the people. They are a testament to the strength of human endurance and I have never met a kinder people in the face of their suffering. I would very much like to donate to a local charity in Cambodia and am investigating at present, but if you have any suggestions I would appreciate it.
The mix of history, architecture, people and a wonderful beach holiday at the end was perfect. I am glad we chose CoCo Beach resort. It was different from any of the others in the area and the bungalows were comfortable and fun. The staff at Coco Beach were very helpful without being intrusive and the resort is small enough to still feel the personal touch.
I cannot fault the holiday at all and will remember it for a long time. Please feel free to pass on my thanks directly, since I do not have email details for Asia Jewell Tours in Vietnam and Angkor TK Travel and Tours in Cambodia, but I will write separately also.
You can be sure that I will speak highly of Dragon Tours and Travel to anyone that will listen and hopefully we will be in contact in the future for a return trip!"
-Mrs.W.P. March 2008

" We would like to thank you so much for our recent holiday to Indochina,it was the best holiday ever. We were so well looked after, the guides and drivers were superb, the hotels excellent. When the airline lost one of our suitcases our guide went out of his way to get it back for us. Our guide in Siem Reap 'Bunthing' was simply the best, patient, kind and informative. Everything was so well organised we would recommend you to anyone and hope to travel with you again. Thank you once again. "
-Mr.and Mrs.C.S. March 2008

" Sandra and I returned from our holiday in Vietnam last week. We had a fantastic holiday and have learned so much about the Vietnamese people and their history. We were so well looked after and would like to thank you for making our holiday so very special. "
-Ms.L.W. March 2008

" I just want to let you know how much we enjoyed our holiday.
We were treated like royalty for the whole tour. The tour guides were very informative, very nice and considerate people. I feel it was the hardest for Tina in Cambodia to take us to the prison and killing fields which we found very moving. We were glad we went to these atrocity places to fully understand what Cambodia has suffered in the past...
We would recommend your company to anyone who was interested in visiting that part of the world.
Once again thank you for a great holiday."
-Mr.and Mrs.P.C.March 2008

" We have just returned from our holiday in Cambodia and wish to thank you for making all the arrangements for what turned out to be an excellant holiday. The flights with Thai Airlines where very good, some of the best we,ve done.No problem at booking in and with our seats. We particularly enjoyed the hotels at Siemreap and Sihanoukville. The decor at Hotel De La Paix was stunning, I would love one of those black and white wall pictures of the Ankhor Temples they had hanging on the walls so if they are available in England let me know where. We did get the honeymoon suite at the Sokha Beach which added a memorable touch to the holiday!. The temples at Angkor were even better than we had anticipated, we were pleased to have added the Bang Melia temple one of our favourites. Finally I feel we must say how great your representatives were. They were so well informed and attentitive. It was a pleasure to be with them. I would recommend your firm and this tour. The Temples is one of the world's must see sights. "
-Mr.and Mrs.S.February 2008

" My wife and I yesterday returned from Myanmar. We are both now retired and during the last 15 years have travelled extensively, on package tours, in small groups and many times independently. We have visited U.S.A (7 times), Cuba, nearly ever country in Europe, China (for a month), India, Thailand (twice), Malaysia (three times), Borneo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia (twice) and New Zealand (twice) and we have never before felt the need to write to the provider to express our gratitude for what was our best ever travel experience.
From the moment we were met at Yangon Airport by the excellent Tour Guide Tin Tin and driver we were treated to a standard of care, thoughtfulness, and service we have never previously experienced. Without exception the local guides Tin Tin in Yangon, Zaw Win Cho in Bagan, Zaw in Mandalay and Joseph Andrews in Pindaya and Inle lake and the drivers were extremely knowledgeable, interesting, efficient, punctual and cheerful. Nothing was too much trouble and even the smallest suggestion or request by us was met with instant action, although most had already been anticipated.
The general information you provided before the holiday proved totally accurate and was invaluable. While I realise the dangers of over selling a destination it has to be said that your internet site did not do true justice to the breathtaking beauty of Myanmar, the natural charm of the people or the wonderful activities that you arranged for us in the itinerary.
Overall, this was a very special holiday. The arrangements made and the service provided by you and your agents worked perfectly. The accommodation without exception was excellent and if future client seek a break at the end of a tour then the Bayview at Ngapali is a must.
Finally, thank you once again; the places visited and the people met have provided us with so many wonderful memories. "
-Mr.and Mrs.D.B.February 2008

" We would like to thank you and Rob for the arrangements for our recent holiday. Just like our holiday to Vietnam with Dragon in 2006 everything went like clockwork. We were very surprised and pleased to be met at Vientiane airport and taken to the Intercity for the afternoon on our return from the plain of jars--this made all the difference to our long journey home. All our guides and drivers were excellent and they all wanted to make our stay enjoyable. The highlight for us was staying in the Sala Phae floating guesthouse and watching the sunset and dawn."
-Dr.and Mrs.J.L.February 2008

" We have seen a tremendous amount, learned a lot and aroused our curiosity to learn more about the Peoples and the earlier civilisations. We have returned with a library of books, hundreds of photographs and hours of video. Everywhere we went the people were friendly....Certainly we would recommend you to anyone intending to visit all or part of our route."
-Mr.C.P.February 2008

" We are back, as you know from our holidays in Vietnam and Cambodia. We had a fantastic time! The guides and chauffeurs were very helpful and nice, some even had cold water after every visits, some took us to more places than planned, some had dinner or a drink with us !! It was brilliant.... We will start saving money soon to have another trip out there! It was worth every penny."
-Mr.L.C.January 2008

" Apologies for not getting in touch sooner to tell you that we had a great holiday, for which many thanks.
Our three guides were really great – knowledgeable, friendly and flexible with an excellent command of English. We particularly liked our arrival presents of map, pre-stamped postcards, shoulder bags and $50 of local currency each [to be paid for later!].
Also, all the drivers were excellent, too.
The country was fascinating and the people absolutely lovely. Just can’t wait to return and see even more of Myanmar. Won’t go on and on, but simply say that we endorse all your customers’ favourable comments on your website and that thanks must also go to you and your staff in the UK, too."
-Mr.G.H.January 2008

" We were looked after with exceptional care and thoughtfulness, with extra presents of local fruit and sweets. We hugely appreciated the way our guide bought a big bag of sweets for the village children of Phnom Da and she also bought rice for the monks at Bokor. Both these kindnesses made a big difference to the welcome we got. We were impressed with the ease and good humour with which plans could be changed. Nothing eas too much trouble. Thank you for a wonderful time. "
-Miss R.M. December 2007

" I just wanted to say thank you for the arrangements on our recent trip to Cambodia. It all went extremely smoothly and according to plan. It was excellent value for money.... a great holiday and all three of us had a really wonderful time. "
-Mr.G.M.December 2007

" We have recently returned from our fabulous two week holiday in Vietnam and Cambodia. Thank you to everyone who co-ordinated the trip. Everything ran like clockwork and we had a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable time. The Hotel accomodation was first class and the food plentiful. The guides were really friendly and helpful as were the drivers. All our internal flight and Hotel check-ins were all carried out by our guides, leaving us to relax with no hassle.
Regarding the trips they were very well organised and we were certainly made to feel special with no waiting or queing anywhere. The restaurants we were taken to and the food we were given were very good.
I feel I must mention one guide in particular in Ho Chi Minh, she told us to call her Happy as that is what her name in Vietnamese means. She could speak English very well and there was not anything she wouldnt do for us to make our visit special.
Once again we should like to thank all concerned at Dragon Travel plus your agents and guides in Vietnam and Cambodia for making our holiday so memorable, and making us feel special wherever we went, we would have no hesitation in recommending your company in the future. "
-Mr.and Mrs. K.R. November 2007

" [Siem Reap]Mr.S was very informative and would take us anywhere we wished after the main day's tour was finished. It was an enjoyable few days - we had always wanted to come to Angkor Wat and were not disappointed....[P.Penh and S.Cambodia] A most interesting journey, we feel that we have learned a lot about Cambodia's history and customs from our guide. "
-Mr.and Mrs. L.T. November 2007

" Our recent trip was an excellent itinerary, first class accommodation and we were accompanied by knowledgable and attentive guides who made us feel most welcome.

[Phnom Penh] Informative and extremely attentive guide made us feel most welcome .... [Siem Reap] Excellent guide and driver, attentive, professional and nothing too much trouble. Day at Angkor Wat exceptional!...

[Laos] We had the good fortune to have Khamla as our guide. He made us feel most welcone, had impeccable manners, had a good sense of humour and went out of his way to make our visit pleasurable. This young man shared his knowledge and love of his country with us and we take home happy memories of Laos. "
-Ms.L.H. and Mr.R.C November 2007

" We have recently returned from our fabulous three week holiday in Vietnam. Thank you to everyone who co-ordinated the trip. Everything ran like clockwork and we had a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable time.
The guides were really friendly and helpful and the drivers were very careful and polite. Special mention must go to Lang who met us in Danang. His command of English was superb and even taught us a couple of new words!! He was also very knowledgeable and made a complex history lesson very interesting.
The hotels we stayed in were all very clean and comfortable and I would have no hesitation in recommending your company. "
-Ms.S.M. November 2007

[Beijing]..Very helpful guide. Good trip.. "
-Mr.R and Mr.D.B. October 2007

" We are writing to say how much we enjoyed our 3 weeks in Laos and Cambodia all the guides and drivers were excellent. They were very helpful and in Laos they booked us in on all the internal flights we didn't have to do a thing. The countries were amazing. It was nice to go to both because you realise how different the people are. Before going we thought the countries and people would be the same and thought they would be like Vietnam (we visited last year). But all 3 are very different. Thankyou for a marvellous itinery, everything went so smoothly and all people we met were so friendly. "
-Mr.and Mrs.M and S.T. October 2007

-Dr.S.K. (party of 6) October 2007

" Lilian went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. She took the time to find out what we did and did not like in the way of food, she provided us with water at no charge and in every way was an excellent tour guide. She even helped us with our luggage, both arriving and departing, for which we were very grateful....Best ever. "
-Mrs. P.H. October 2007

" [Xian, China] ...most enjoyable part of the whole tour, made more so by outstandingly friendly and competent guide and driver... [Shanghai, China]...V. was a most considerate, helpful and understanding guide who made our stay in Shanghai enjoyable... {Beijing, China]...A most enjoyable experience due in large part to an excellent guide and driver. We appreciated all the information given both historic and cultural, Mr.V. being a pleasure to be with. We also had every confidence in our driver. A thoroughly professional service - thank you.
[Siem Reap] Guide was professional, conscientious and knowledgable ensuring everything went smoothly. Cheerful, friendly driver. Would strongly recommend this tour to others. "
-Mr.and Mrs.G.D. September 2007

" The trip to Myanmar was a great success. We were privileged to meet such gentle and wise people who live under such an odious regime. We would encourage anyone thinking of going there to do so to support the people, keep communication channels open with the free world, and also to put money into their private coffers. The trade embargo does more to hurt the common people than those in power...
All of the guides we had, in Yangon, Mandalay and the Lake Inle region were delightful, relaxed, friendly, generous and courteous to a fault and very open with us. It would have been difficult to have found better company. The drivers, too, were excellent.
As ever we do not hesitate to recommend Dragon Travel to anyone thinking of going to Southeast Asia. The planning and execution is meticulous, and the price reasonable. I have passed your website details on to many people...
Our best wishes and grateful thanks to you and all in Myanmar. "
-Pamela and Andrew N. August 2007

" Our guide was very knowledgable and told us much of Cambodian history, customs and life, always polite and with humour. Our driver was always prompt, very courteous and I felt safe being driven by him..A great holiday which will be recommended to our friends. A great insight into Cambodia which we hope becomes an established destination for people from the UK. "
-Mr.and Mrs.A.D. August 2007

" A most enjoyable stay - interesting tours, beautiful sites - made exceptional by a delightful driver and well-informed and entertaining guide."
-Mr.A.B August 2007

" Java [guide] was very friendly. She helped at every opportunity and made our trips run very smoothly....Charley and our driver in Kunming helped to make our stay there have a real local flavour. It was fun travelling around with them. We shall not forget the duck!"
-Mr.P.A. August 2007

" We have just returned from very good holiday. I am impressed by your firm and have recommended you already! "

...thank you once again for helping make our honeymoon so special. "
-Mr.A.R. July 2007

" We have arrived safely back home in Brussels last night after an extremely well organised and successful tour organised by yourselves and your agents in Vietnam and Cambodia. Thank you very much for arranging everything so well and proffessionally. It went like clockwork without a hitch, or delays (apart from Vietnam Airlines delay to Ban Me Thuat - which in fact was a blessing as we then missed having to take part of the tour (ride in a dugout canoe in continous rain!) The itinerary was re-arranged the next day and completed in sunshine! Apart from the afore-mentioned rain we only had rain on the day we arrived in HCMC and it returned the day we left Phnom Penh! Not one part of the tour was carried out in rain and we enjoyed dry sunny days, a bit humid, but bearable for the whole tour. Well done in arranging that as well!!! .....
We thoroughly enjoyed Vietnam for its incredibly friendly people and less touristic hype. Cambodia was great and we can only be thankful we visited during the low season - we could only imagine that the high season would be extremely stressful and not nearly so wonderful when one can now wander around the sites without the hoards of tourists expected of the high season......
We made 10 individual flights in total, stayed in 8 different hotels/places, visited many different sites and at every place we were very well looked after - a wonderful piece of planning, welldone!
We will certainly recommend Dragon Travel to our friends and be pleased to be used as a reference by you if required. With our very best thanks and appreciation of a tour welldone."
-C, M and D P-H. July 2007

" Very good! Excellent tour of the capital [Phnom Penh]- thank you!.... Mr.S. [Siem Reap] was a really fantastic guide! Wonderful tour - the best of our entire trip! "

" We have returned from the tour you organised for us to Vietnam and I am writing to say that we had a fantastic time. The hotel accommodation was all very comfortable and we have put on weight with all of the wonderful and plentiful food that was served to us.
A. and I are both very grateful for the attentive service that you and your representatives afforded us both during the booking process and on the tour itself.
Thank you very much. I hope to be in a position to use your services again in the coming years."
-Mr.N.McC. June 2007

" Wonderfully helpful and friendly guides, who have provided and suggested lots of extras. It's been a great experience - and fun!....Frank is an excellent guide and a most sensitive and intelligent person. We were very priviledged to have him as our guide around the temples......Once again our guide Daisy has been extremely kind, courteous and knowledgable! Superb - Thank You. "
-Mr.M.M and Ms.L.C.June 2007

" Just want to let you know that we had a marvellous trip to Laos and all the guides and sites were very well planned and organised so a big thank you. Next trip will be Cambodia and possibly southern Laos and 5 days on a beach location.
Many thanks for organising the trip!"

" Very knowledgable and friendly guide who did everything to make sure we got the most out of our short stay. [In Beijing] Lillian was very knowledgable, enthusiastic and helpful. She performed her role with a great deal of care and kindness as well."
-Mr.A.J April 2007

" Just a quick note to say thank you for organising a wonderful holiday to Vietnam for my wife and I.
The itinerary covered a large variety of wonderful sights and experiences, with excellent standard of accommodation and the guides and drivers were extremely good and helpful.
All this creates a problem for us - where to go next year with yourselves! "

" The tour was excellently organised and both the driver and guide were always prepared to make on the spot changes. Eddie made sure we had the best seats everywhere and made learning about Thailand and the Thai culture really interesting. Saks driving was safe and relaxing, enabling us to sleep on route!
Thanks to Eddie, Saks and Ki for a great holiday. ."
-Ms.C.K and Mr.S.H. March 2007

" I have been meaning to drop you a line for the last two weeks just to let you know that we had the most wonderful time in Thailand and Cambodia.... The guides in Bangkok and Cambodia were superb, hotels were excellent and we were fortunate to have all our flights leave on time with no delays at all. If I hear of anyone going in that direction on a tour, I shall definitely recommend your company."
-Miss C.C. March 2007

" We just would like to write and say that we had a great holiday and we would like to thank you and your company for the efficient manner in which you organized our whole trip. All the guides were knowledgeable, punctual and presented well and the transport was good.
We would be very happy to use and recommend your company in the future. Many thanks again. ."
-Mr.and Mrs.J.H. March 2007

" We could not have asked for a better or more informative guide on our first visit to Cambodia"
-Mr.K.P.March 2007

" ..our tour was splendidly well organised and most enjoyable. Thank you very much! ."
-Mrs.E.G and Party March 2007

" All in all, we had a wonderful time. The people were so friendly, the scenery spectacular, the food excellent (even although Alan doesn't like chillies!) and everyone seemed to want to help us. Cambodia came as a bit of a culture shock but not surprising when the country went through the Pol Pot years. I got the distinct impression they were desperate for visitors and surpringly open about their recent history of the "Killing Fields".
Please send our personal thanks again to all your guides and drivers who made it such a memorable holiday and I've been recommending your company to lots of our friends!"
-Mrs.P.D. March 2007

" Thank you very much for the arrangements you put in place for our recent trip to Myanmar. Everything ran without a hitch apart from the last two internal flights were somewhat delayed, but not drastically so. We undertook your suggested 14 day itinerary and we both felt that the balance and variety were very well thought out...
It was a pleasure to visit a country which has hardly been touched by tourism, and where the people are so genuinely pleased to welcome you, eagerly answer your questions and are happy for you to watch them in their daily lives, without giving you the impression that you are intruding or being a nuisance. The British are truly missing a gem, but yet our European cousins, French, Germans, Italians and Spaniards seem quite happy to visit!
We had four excellent, but very different tour guides, but each was prepared to put on extras to show us as much as possible in the time available...
All the arrangements to, in and leaving Malaysia operated like clockwork and we had no problem with our ‘tight’ connection in Singapore... Thank you again for putting together our wonderful holiday; I shall have no hesitation in recommending Dragon Travel to anyone who wishes to have a bespoke holiday in SE Asia. ."
-Mr.and Mrs.B.C. March 2007

" On Saturday we returned from a trip to Cambodia and Laos with your company. We had a marvellous time, enhanced by the helpful drivers and guides who had a wealth of fascinating information at their fingertips. The hotels, although varied, were uniformly good and we were taken to restaurants where the food was also consistently delightful. The sights and experiences will stay for us for a lifetime, so many thanks.."
-Mr.and Mrs.K.P March 2007

" I'm writing to thank you for organising a most enjoyable tour of Vietnam for me and my wife. While, for me, this was entirely a holiday, for her it was a material gathering exercise for future shows of her paintings. From both our points of view the choices you made for us were excellent, so that there was no need for us to change any of the itinerary.
...All in all we had a wonderful time, and were eventually very happy to go back to Thailand and relax for a week by my brother's swimming pool. We would be very interested to hear in which other countries you arrange tours, as it's most likely we will travel with you again in the near future."
-Mr.and Mrs.D.B. February 2007

" Wonderful! We had the time of our lives. Everything went according to the itinerary and was just perfect. All the guides were lovely, hotels as you described and we feel we had excellent value for money. We look forward to next years trip. A big thank you to everyone involved."
-Mr.and Mrs.P.D. February 2007

" Tour was brilliant. Guides were great. Hotels great. Only one bad meal on the tour - no complaints whatsoever."
-Mr.and Mrs.S and Mr.and Mrs.E. February 2007

" So far we are delighted with the tour and our guide and driver. They are both polite and helpful. The hotel and restaurants have been exactly what we had hoped for."
-Mr.and Mrs.P.L. February 2007

" Our drivers and guides were absolutely first class - friendly, couteous and informative. We have had a wonderful time in Vietnam and hope to return."
-Ms.M.E. February 2007

" (Phnom Penh) A thoroughly enjoyable visit made all the more so because of our knowledgable and attentive guide who was able to to make everything so interesting - and particularly his personal experiences.
(Siem Reap)The tour was made perfect for us because of Mr.B's knowledge and experience. In particular, he adjusted our daily itineraries so as to avaoid crowded times for the big sites and added in others when feasible. His knowledge of Cambodia and buddhist history and the Ramayana meant that the visit to each site was made even more fascinating - and a real experience. Mr.T. is a very good driver, efficient and considerate to his passengers.
Dragon T and T's itinerary was excellent - inclusing all the big sites and adding in opportunities to see other things such as the countryside and village life, the Tonlesap boat trip and the visit to West Baray. Without these things there might have been a risk of 'temple overload'!
A very enjoyable visit."
-Mr.and Mrs.M.P. January 2007

" I have been meaning to write to you about my tour of Myanmar. It went very well indeed and without a hitch, despite the complicated itinerary and four internal flights. I cannot speak to highly of the itinerary that you proposed, which was all I wanted.
In the event, I did get a bit tired of Pagodas (you are not to blame for that) so asked to visit Pakokku, Maymyo and Taunggyi. These were places I remembered from my youth. I left Burma in 1933 aged 7 and I am now 80 years old. These changes were arranged without difiiculty for reasonable extra payments.
The hotels were excellent. The guides were all knowledgable and courteous, subtly altering the itinerary in reponse to my particular interests...
All in all I will enthusiastically recommend your company to any aspiring traveller I meet. "
-Dr.C.S.January 2007

" We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The guide was knowledgable and helpful and added greatly to our enjoyment of the sights. The driver was courteous and careful and the vehicle very comfortable. And the visits were memorable. A great holiday! "
-Mr.M.M and Mrs.A.A January 2007

" We had a great hol in Vietnam and felt we got a great introduction to the country seeing a really wide variety of astonishing sights and places as well as eating loads of delicious food (we’re now both on strict diets) and experiencing sublime chill out moments. We were very pleased we went for the 5 star option, as our first hotel, the Sheraton in Hanoi was just about the best we’ve ever stayed in and a perfect end to a day long journey....
We hadn’t realised we’d get such personal service, and the guides and drivers were all brilliant - once we got used to the fact that driving on the right in Vietnam was more a suggestion than a law! All 3 guides were conscientious and considerate, especially once we learned to modify their schedules to suit ourselves more. They generally kept to your original itinery, but we ended up doing just the Temple of Learning on the first day as we were shattered, and easily covered the missed places on the following 2 days....
Your plan for spending our last 3 days in Phan Thiet was a great one and we thoroughly enjoyed the Sailing Club. It had a great atmosphere and all the staff were really friendly – in fact that was our experience of the Vietnamese people as a whole. We felt totally safe and people couldn’t do enough to make our stay a wonderful experience, so thanks to you for a really fantastic holiday. "
-Mr.and Mrs.D.L. January 2007

" Our guide and driver were both superb. They made our visit to Siem Reap very special and we will both treasure our memories for a very long time. They were both very kind, friendly and very funny but most of all they treated us like royalty! "
-Ms.S.D and Mr.D.G December 2006

" Our driver and vehicle were excellent. Always clean and on time and the driver was very polite. Mr.Lim is an excellent guide and gave us many details to help us understand Cambodia. He made our stay trouble-free and dealt with our needs and wishes in a friendly and efficient way. I wish we could stay longer. "
-Mr.and Mrs.K December 2006

" It was a daily adventure with a new wonder around every corner. We were both comletely exhausted when we got home and wished we'd booked a week on the beach to recover! It was a wonderful "holiday" with all the worry taken out by the amazingly efficient organisation which was without exception, faultless. We shall certainly be looking at going away with Dragon Travel again. "
-Mr.and Mrs.R.P. November 2006

" All in all it was a wonderful experience...many people here thought I was brave to travel somewhere like that on my own. I did not tell them my secret which was Dragon Travel who I was confident would organise things so well I would not have to worry about anything. "
-Mrs.J.W. November 2006

" We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Sam who could not have looked after us better. Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville have been a real highlight of our holiday and we could not have had a better or more caring guide than Sam, "
-Mr.and Mrs.S.M. November 2006

" We were made to feel very welcome and at ease in such a short visit, good services and facilities all round. The killing fields were very moving, the Royal Palace very impressive. Excellent food at restaurants with good courteous service all round. (Phnom Penh) "
-Mr.J.C.November 2006

" Very high standard of hotel. Mr.S.gave a very thorough, wide ranging display of his knowledge and was very helpful in making our holiday comfortable and memorable. He had excellent English skills. The driver was very friendly and polite and always helpful. "
-Mr.G.W.November 2006

" Very enjoyable tour with excellent accommodation facilities. We particularly enjoyed our stay at the Jungle Rafts in Kanchanaburi. Our guide and driver were very helpful and professional. "
-Mr.G.W.November 2006

" Sam was a great guide. The time at Angkor was just right and we never felt we were either rushed or that we spent too much time in any one place. "
-Mr.J.E.November 2006

" Best guide and driver of whole trip - very helpful and understanding of what we needed, english excellent - brilliant - enjoyed trip completely .....very enjoyable stay, guide and driver excellent and helped us throughout.. "
-Mr.T.G.November 2006

" The whole tour was very well organised. All the guides and drivers were on time we were met at every airport arrival... all-in-all a great adventure and holiday - thank you. "
-Mr.R.C.November 2006

" It was a wonderful holiday. I would have liked more time to walk around Yangon and Mandalay to enjoy the atmosphere of the twin centres. The Golden Rock was a magical experience and the Savoy Hotel was very good as a base. I hope to have an opportunity in the future to return to this wonderful country. Thank you for making it so special. "
-Mrs.P.C.November 2006

" Dear Ki, we have just got back from our trip to Indo China. It was absolutely fantastic with near perfect organisation and stress free travel. I'll write a longer feedback but just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed it. We're already looking at next year!!!" "
-Mr.R.P.November 2006

" If you are thinking of going to China go soon, as the country is changing at an amazing rate. Friends of ours have been in the last fifteen years and the China they told us about doesn't exist any more. The country is vast with cities of four or five million people that we had never heard of.

Our holiday was quite an experience. Its worth spending more on the better hotels to ensure a reasonable level of comfort and some English being spoken, although frequently the Chinese accent was difficult to understand. Our very small amount of Chinese was useful and welcomed by the Chinese we met. The Chinese themselves were lovely people and very proud of the changes happening in their country although, unlike in Vietnam, they didn't seem to have much interest in our way of life.

The large cities are full of rather anonymous tower blocks, several four lane ring roads and a modern out of town airport. Sadly the Chinese heritage sites are seemingly taking second place to modernisation. The highlight of our city visits were; our trip to the hutongs, the "old" Beijing homes, where we spent some time with the occupant and her family - local homing pigeon champions for 2006!!, our visits to the Buddhist temples in Xi'an and of course the Great Wall which was shrouded in a mix of mist and Beijing pollution.

We also went on a very hairy trip to Wolong to see the pandas and this was absolutely wonderful. We were able to see the new born pandas in incubators and the rest of the residents were quite lively as the weather was just right for pandas - wet and cold. The hotel was certainly not equipped to feed westerners but the electric blanket came in very handy as the weather in the hills was very Scottish.

The local guides and drivers were excellent and we were able to visit the Tang Dynasty show in Xi'an and the Kung Fu show in Beijing - both great experiences.

Our Yangtse trip was a little disappointing, the Gorges are spectacular but there were few buildings or fauna next to the river. We were also ill at the end of the cruise and were consequently unable to go to Tibet. The trip to Shennong Stream was most enjoyable and our visit to the dam itself was very interesting.

Our holiday ended in Shanghai with our guide Bernie. He was very proud of his city and rightly so. The buildings here are exciting and different and the whole town exudes an optimism and excitement that is quite exhilarating. We did have a problem in Shanghai but this was sorted with the help of our guide and the local travel company.

We hope that China does not lose all of its heritage in the race to modernisation and hopefully they will sort out their dual language signage in time for the Olympics. "
-Mr.R.T. October 2006

" The organisation was excellent, guides were very intelligible and their english excellent. I felt comfortable with all of them which was excellent as a lone woman traveller. "
-Mrs.J.W. (Myanmar) October 2006

" The road to Wolong was difficult but very beautiful and seeing the pandas was well worth the bumpy ride - brilliant animals! "
-Mr.R.T. October 2006

" The guide was particularly helpful and kind the entire day... "
-Mrs.A.L.September 2006

" Well..... what a holiday!! As you know, we'd not been to that part of the world before, so the holiday was an eye-opener but also gave us the "bug" to see more of some of the countries we've just visited and surrounding countries!
After our wonderful holiday and friends' wedding in Bangkok, we were a bit nervous about being on our own with just a guide, something we've never done before. But we soon found out how things worked over there, and became quite confident! The various guides we had in Sabah were great, very informative and friendly, full of enthusiasm for their subjects and eager that everyone got the most from their visit. Dolly in Mulu was a wonderful person, we really appreciated his informed and conscientious approach to showing us the Wind and Deer Caves. He is passionate about the environment, it seemed, and this came out constantly in his conversation....
....In Vietnam, Cuong put us at our ease, and the overnight trip and journey up to Sa Pa were wonderful! We LOVED Sa Pa, with all its diversity. Cuong was so knowledgeable. His arrangements for some of the places we ate, our transport and drivers, were first class. We had many "firsts" in Vietnam that we will remember for years to come!
Anyway, I won't give you a day by day account, just to say that we had so many memorable experiences in Vietnam apart from the above; the welcome that Minh gave us in Ho Chi Minh City, his enthusiasm to pass on to us some of the day to day customs that we might not otherwise have got to know about. He tried to teach us some basic Vietnamese, but I'm afraid we failed miserably at that! Minh's command of English is excellent, and his sense of humour infectious. Although we spent a relatively short time with him, I have to say that he touched our lives.
We also loved Cambodia, and Chan couldn't have been easier to get on with! He and Tong, our driver, were so friendly and helpful. We had a bit of car trouble one day, but after making sure the car was driveable and we could return to our hotel, we all just giggled and got on with it! The car was fixed by the next morning! Angkor Wat was phenomenal to see, a real dream come true! We'd like to see more of Cambodia, so it's a definite on our new "wish list"!
All our arrivals at new destinations were eased by guides or drivers meeting us promptly with name signs, I can't praise the organisation enough! Our hotels were wonderful, I can't see how we could have had better, even if we had gone for the next star-level. Our last hotel, Seaside Hotel, in Sihanoukville, wasn't quite up to the same standard, but we still had no complaints. It was just that it was so different from where we'd stayed in Siem Reap!!
If we have one complaint over the entire trip, it was the the set meals we were given were too large!! Some of the restaurants we were taken to were fantastic, and the food out of this world. Of particular note was the meal we had on the boatride across Halong Bay! Andy says he's never had such wonderful-tasting fish before!
Our last couple of days in Sihanoukville were lovely. Our last day was spent on a deserted beach at the end of the town, where we'd been taken by bike taxi. But when Sam came to pick us up from our hotel, little did we know we would be driving at about 20kmh for some of the way back to Pnomh Penh! More car troubles, which meant we were unable to do our last trip as the car would not make it up the mountainside to our destination. However, Sam reimbursed our entry fee and arranged for another car to pick us up to continue the journey to the airport, and we were in plenty of time - so no great problem there! Sam was another lovely person, so knowledgeable and jolly!
Ki, thank you for such a wonderful holiday! We wish we were still on tour! Every time I start to sort out our photos on disc, I'm right back there! I keep thinking of things I should have mentioned, but was hoping to keep this email quite short, as I see from your website "comments" section that you've had lots of feedback from other clients already.
Thanks again....
Best regards
Janet and Andy."
-Ms.J.W. September 2006

" Everything worked out like clockwork - made it look very easy in spite of huge logistical problems behind the scenes no doubt. I particularly enjoyed the friendliness, warmth and companionship of all the guides who taught me a great deal about the history and culture of Myanmar as well as introducing me to many of the locals.
Only criticism - too many very early flights! Very impressed with all drivers as being very careful and safe - a contrast to other road users. "
-Mr.Ian T. August 2006

" This is just a brief note to thank you for the organisation of our recent holiday in Vietnam. The itinerary and hotels were first class, and our driver and guide for the transfers and included tours where excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and learnt a lot during our stay.
We would just like to make a special mention of our guide, Khoa, he was first rate, pleasant, friendly and so knowledgeable. He kept us fully informed of everything that was happening on a day to day basis and really made the holiday. We would recommend him to any other travellers.
Once again thank you for a superb holiday."
-Mr.M.S. August 2006

"Just a note to say how much Sue and I enjoyed our tour of Vietnam. Everything was very well organised and, apart from a couple of minor disappointments, we were extremely happy with every aspect of our visit."
- Mr.I.S.August 2006

"Just a brief e-mail to thank you and your company for organising an excellent tour of the South of Vietnam and Cambodia. Your guides were excellent especially Minh in Vietnam who gave us a real insight to Vietnam and it's people. Tuc our driver was superb and safe as he negotiated his way through the almost organic traffic in Saigon. Minh and Tuc were always ready to adapt the programme to fit with our needs, especially the day our teenage daughter was ill. I would recommend that everyone goes to the Delta for a few days, it really is amazing.
Both guides in Cambodia were excellent and left us feeling that we knew some of the things about the country that were below the tourist's horizon. I am now left with the (nice) problem of editing 2500 photos, as the people of Vietnam and Cambodia were so happy to have their photos taken. It was so nice to be able to meet so many nice people.
I would really recommend the Victoria group of hotels they were excellent with a very high level of service.
I am now planning to visit north Vietnam and Laos!"
- Mr.J.B August 2006

" Arrived back from China Wednesday last having had a marvellous time.
Air travel, hotels, cruise ship and the various included trips were all first class and we thoroughly enjoyed the 12 days. No hitches whatsoever.
All the tour guides had a good knowledge of English and gave detailed accounts of the historical background of each of the sites visited. They ensured the checking in to hotels and flights was carried out quickly and efficiently and always looked to our safety and well-being. The vehicles used were clean and air-conditioned as were the various restaurants visited. The variety of food on offer gave us a real appreciation of Chinese cooking and culture. A local Chinese carry-out will now be a poor substitute. Towards the end of our trip we had seen sufficient museums, temples and factory shops and the guides were content to rearrange their schedule and fall in with our wishes.
All in all an exciting and unforgettable holiday.
Many thanks to you and your staff."
-Mr.J.B. June 2006

" An exceptional guide: very informative and friendly."
-Mr. J.F. May 2006 (China)

" Thank you for all your help. Our visit to Vietnam and Cambodia was wonderful, all the tour guides were very helpful and knowledgable about local history. The hotels were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The spectacular views, awesome temples, kindness and the smiles of the local people will stay in our hearts for ever."
-Mrs.S. May 2006

" Just a note to say that we have recently returned from a trip to Vietnam organised through dragon tours (1-17th April). We just wanted to let you know that we were very impressed with the entire holiday - the tour guides were all very knowledgeable and helpful, the accomodation was lovely and everything went very smoothly. Everything was very well organised and extremely reliable.... Overall we would have no reservations about recommending your company to others wishing to visit Vietnam as we had a fantastic holiday with excellent service both beforehand from yourselves and during the holiday from the guides and hotel staff. "
-Ms. K.M. May 2006

" My wife and I have recently returned from our holiday in Thailand, and thought we would like to write to you to congratulate you for the way you organised our visit/excursion to Bangkok and the River Kwai. Everything went to plan, and all the arrangements were perfect. The agency representative (Tom), being a local man was an asset to us with the benefit of all his knowledge and/of Thai customs. Also the driver, who chauffered us around was always on time and should be complemented on his driving skills, especially in the busy Bangkok areas, and was a pleasure to drive with.
Wishing your company every success in the future, and thanks again for all your help. "
-Mr.and Mrs.V.H. May 2006

" I just wanted to thank you for arranging a brilliant trip to Vietnam for us, we really enjoyed it. All the drivers and guides were great, and I would like to make a special mention of the guide we had in Mid Vietnam (For Hue). He was the only one who didn't give us a questionnaire to complete and he was brilliant and really made a difference to our trip. (I didn't make a note of his name) I am going to start saving so I can go to China next year! "
-Lisa R. March 2006

" My wife and I have now returned from our holiday and are over our jet lag. We had a wonderful time and thought that the arrangements that you and your agents made were first class....All of the guides were first rate and were very welcoming. "
-Mr.H. March 2006

" Although the weather was unexpectedly cold in the North, I am glad we experienced the sights of Halong Bay and with our guide Cuong our stay in Hanoi will be unforgettable.."
-Mrs.G.McP. March 2006

" Thanks for arranging a unforgetable trip, this holiday was an education on Vietnam's history, people, religion and not least its food. Helen and I had a fantastic time and we would like to say a special thanks to our guides - In Hanoi Mr Dang we liked for his humour and warmth, he made us feel right at home in his city and took total care of us. In central Vietnam Mr Ba his knowledge of history present and past was amazing he made us feel like we were back in them times, also had great stories to tell. Finally Hugh in Saigon he made us feel that he was just as excited touring in and around Saigon as we were. Hugh was not able to give us his address but said that you know him well so maybe you could pass on our thanks once again to him and the others too. Ki, you and your team made us feel special and we will spread the word over our Island that for Vietnam and Asia, Dragon Travel is the way to go."
-Mr.and Mrs.D.R. March 2006

" Our holiday in S.E Asia is finally over. I would just like to thank Dragon Travel for making all the arrangements in Myanmar...it was a super holiday and everything went as smooth as silk. All of our guides were very good and nice people as well as being knowledgeable of the country and it’s history. We both enjoyed ourselves immensely and will not hesitate to used Dragon Travel if we go to South East Asia again."
-Mr.and Mrs.R.M March 2006

" My wife and I would like to thank you for the excellent holiday we had in Vietnam last month. The organisation was brilliant. All 3 guides were outstanding - very friendly and helpful and very knowledgable. This was certainly one of the best, if not THE best holiday we have ever had. Vietnam is a beautiful country and the people are very friendly and polite, we felt very safe at all times (except, possibly, when crossing roads!!!). I have managed to transfer my 2.5 hours of video onto my DVD recorder and am working on my 560 photographs."
-Mr.G.H. March 2006

" We found Myanmar a wonderful country to visit with so mnay interesting experiences and fabulous places to see. Dragon Travel should encourage more people to come here. All the arrangements made for us worked well...we found all our guides courteous and patient always waiting for our photo-taking. Their english was excellent and they were well-read and informative without being obtrusive. The whole tour was a nice blend of independance and useful assistance."
-Dr. and Dr.R. February 2006

" Dear Ki, Once again thank you for your service. You give honest and trusted information and very good service especially with customers who change their mind so often! "
-Mr.J.B. February 2006
(due to travel Aug.2006)

" Dear Ki, just a note to tell you how wonderful all the arrangements Dragon Tours made for us were. We were met in each city with big city buses and a wonderful guide. All of the tours were very encompassing and the guides were extremely knowledgeable....overall, we were delighted with all arrangements made by your company, and I will most assuredly recommend your company for FITS and tours in the far east in future. You have been a pleasure to work with and look forward to future bookings. Sincerely, "
-Bette F, California February 2006
(Group tours of 7 cities visited by cruise ship)

" First of all let me say how well the tour went for us and I have to complement you on the content of the tour and also the smoothness in which the whole thing went. On the content of the tour, we found it excellent. It was a busy tour with lots of early starts, long days whether travelling or trekking and therefore as I asked of you, a tour which for us was perfect. There wasn't any time when we felt bored in the whole 2 weeks and for people such as ourselves who enjoy demanding tours it goes down as a very good one and will be remembered as such for a very long time.
...on the tour itself we found the guides very good, knowledgeable and extremely helpful, and flexible enough to amend the way we did things to ensure that we maximised on the things that we wished to see or do more of, at the expense of things that maybe did'nt interest us quite so much....that's what I call personal attention and it could not be faulted. The hotels throughout the tour were excellent, always a high standard, and after some of the full and tiring days that we had were marvellous to retire to in the evenings and pamper yourself in, whether just to relax over a nice meal, or head down for an excellent massage after a full day out treking or some other active pursuit. The drivers that we had also have to be commended as the roads tended to leave a lot to be desired, in spite of that we never felt at all in any danger when travelling as they drove always very steadily and cautiously.
In summary it was a marvellous, unforgetable experience."
-Mr.R.B. January 2006

" Well, we arrived safely back at LHR early on Sunday morning after an absolutely first class holiday touring Vietnam and Cambodia.

We just wanted to let you know how excellent it was - the arrangements you made for us were superb (and how did you fix it that EVERY flight we took was on time?!) with every guide waiting to meet us with a wide smile when we arrived at each airport. All the cars and minibuses were clean and new, with careful drivers, and as for as our guides, nothing at all was too much trouble for them. Their aim was clearly to help us as much as they could, so we could get the most from our stay. They were knowlegeable, friendly and keen to ensure we made the most from our trip. After our first two days in HCMC, our itinery included two nights at Can Tho, and our guide suggested that if we preferred it, would we like to have an extra night in HCMC with just one night on the Delta, and then we could travel north to visit the Cu Chi tunnels and the Cao Dai temple in addition - at no extra cost. This we did, and we had a superb day. My one concern about our tour before we left the UK was that it didn't include a visit to the tunnels, so this suggestion made our trip just perfect - I'd certainly recommend it as an option for future travellers.

One specific thing that really eased our arrival in Cambodia was that you had sent us our visa application forms in advance. When we arrived at the airport, I reckon we were only two of about half a dozen or so of the passengers from our plane that had the forms in advance (never mind completed!) - as a result, I reckon we were checking into our hotel before many others had even left the airport.

We loved the hotels - particularly the Majestic in HCMC and the Angkor Village in Siem Reap - and while our substituted beach resort the Bon Bien in Phan Thiet was a little dissapointing at first, we were made to feel very welcome by the new manager - the son of the owner - who had only taken over the running of the resort four weeks previously and was doing all he could to make our stay first class. One small thing this hotel did, was that following a freak wave a month or so ago, a lot of the beach front had been washed away - including the stone terrace of the beach bar further down the coast so every day the staff, first thing in the morning spent ages bringing all the sand back to cover the newly installed protective sand bags so you were non the wiser - unlike the Sea Horse (a more upmarket place) further along the beach that had replaced its beach with hideous bright blue sandbags fully on show! We had a first class New Years eve buffet at the Bon Bien - again, all the staff could not have been more willing to please.

As for both countries - wow - we loved them both, and they were quite a contrast - for example, although Cambodia was an obviously poorer country, there were more cars than Vietnam and more high tech petrol stations! The people could not have been more welcoming and gentle - at no time did we ever feel threatened no matter what time of day we were wandering around, usually quite late especially in HCMC exploring all the famous hotel roof top bars (we particularly liked the Saigon Saigon bar in the Caravelle, where all the reporters used to gather to see how the war was progressing when that building was the tallest in the city.)

Our visit to Cambodia - particularly Phnom Penh was very moving - our guide had lost his father and brother during the genocide years, and was so pleased that western touists were visiting his country. It was a very humbling experience, and we can only hope their peace continues and thrives - they deserve that so much! The temples at Angkor were amazing - a bit like the Taj Mahal in so much that no matter how beautiful you believe they are before you visit, they are even better.

So, do we have any complaints? I can't think of any! We would have liked a little more time in Singapore, but even with our 8 hour stopover we managed tea at Raffles and numerous Singapore Slings in the Long bar! All the country travellers hints you gave us were invaluable; perhaps it would have been helpful to be told that a few sweets and pens would make the day for many of the Cambodian children, although really we should have thought of that ourselves before we departed the UK.

Again, thanks for everything - it was a special trip for our 25th and it exceedeed all our expectations.

with kind regards,
Ian and Jenny"
