This deluxe boutique hotel is located in a quiet part of Luang Prabang just a few minutes from the centre of town. You could say it has gone from the ridiculous to the sublime, being formerly the town's prison, but is now an all-suite top-notch designer resort. This former royal residence is now one of Luang Prabang's most stylish boutique hotels. Converted from a historic building, the rooms are not particularly large but they are stylishly furnished. The restaurant, gardens and pool are delightful, and the hotel offers an elegant but intimate atmosphere and a high degree of personal service.
NB: Most rooms at this hotel have shower-only bathrooms, i.e. no bath.

Maison Dalabua is a sylish boutique hotel and seems to float above its surrounding lotus ponds. Here we use the lovely Deluxe Pond View rooms which as the name implies enjoy super views of the gardens. The spacious rooms are air-conditioned and hotel is a 5-minute walk from central Luang Prabang. All the rooms have cable TV, minibar and tea/coffee maker. Lotus du Spa provides traditional massages, and Rim Naam Restaurant serves local and western dishes.(No swimming pool)

My Dream Resort
Mr Somneuk worked in many hotels in Luang Prabang, but had a dream to one day build his own resort. Well, here it is and it's delightful. Built in a rustic style, the rooms all have terraces overlooking the gardens and the river beyond. As the resort is on the other side of the Khan river, the view is also of the old town of Luang Prabang. The resort also has a nice swimming pool overlooked by the terrace restaurant and lovely service from Mr S. and his staff.

We have used the Pakse Hotel for our guests for many years and it is one of the most improved hotels we know. With a good location in the centre of town and within walking distance to the Mekong River, shops, market and restaurants, the yellow building has a fifties look and is a lively family-run business. The rooms are beautifully decorated and it is quite obvious that the French/Lao couple who own the hotel really care. There is a super rooftop restaurant with a great view over the town.
