Ramada Plaza Menam Riverside The Menam Riverside Hotel is very stylish, modern hotel, now a member of the Ramada Plaza group and it has a keen and dynamic management team. Built around a central decked pool area and garden the hotel also features a super dining terrace right by the river. The seafood buffet here is fabulous, and costs just £14! Silom Serene This small hotel is a bit of a 'find' - situated in a side street only a moment away from the ever-popular Silom shopping and entertainment district, it offers nicely decorated rooms, a lovely lush small garden with swimming pool and jacuzzi and a popular coffee shop. Offering very good accommodation for a hotel in our standard category, the Serene has a more intimate, 'boutique' atmosphere than the larger hotels. Jungle Rafts The Jungle Rafts is unique: a series of floating platforms tethered in the fast-flowing River Kwai-Noi, it is the ultimate wind down. Offered as part of our River Kwai 3-day trips from Bangkok, the Jungle Rafts has no electricity and accommodation is necessarily simple, but the beauty of the location and the laid-back nature of the rafts makes up for it. Tamarind Village The Tamarind Village is right in the centre of Chiang Mai, but you wouldn't guess it when you are there as it is most secluded. A lovely boutique-style hotel, it has been built around courtyards and cloisters, more reminiscent of a monastery than a hotel. Nothing monastic about the comforts, though! Set in fantastic lush gardens and ponds, the Anantara has the most beautiful spa we have seen for a long time.
