Myanmar City+Beach (14-days)
Yangon, Mandalay, Bagan and Ngapali Beach.
Day 1: Arrival Yangon
On arrival in Yangon, our representative will be at the airport to meet you & transfer
you to your hotel. The rest of the day will be at leisure to relax.
Day 2: Yangon (B/L)
Today our city tour of Yangon will include The Sule Paya, Mahabandoola Garden and
Bogyoke Market. After lunch we will take a walk through bustling Chinatown, and visit the Khant Hoke
Chinese temple. We also take you on a walking tour to see many colonial buildings in town & many old
Chinese houses in Chinatown district. Also a visit to the wonderful 100 years old Strand Hotel that still
retains all the grandeur of yesteryear. A short walk to see the riverbank on the other side with local ferry
crossing along the river. At around 4 o'clock we will visit the world famous Shwedagon Pagoda and watch
the spectacular sunset & change of colour of the gold pagoda. Today's lunch at a local restaurant.
Day 3: Yangon - Mandalay (B/L)
After breakfast, transfer to airport for the flight to Mandalay. On arrival, our guide will meet you and transfer you
to your hotel. On the way, we will visit Mahamuni Paya, a Marble factory and a gold-leaf making works. Lunch
at a local restaurant. Our afternoon visits include Mandalay Fort, Shwenandaw Kyaung, Atumashi Kyaung,
Kluthodaw Paya and Mandalay Hill for the sunset. Dinner at hotel.
Day 4: Mandalay (B/L)
In the morning we will take a trip to Amarapura to visit Maha Ganayon Kyaung,
then drive to the river, cross it, then take a donkey cart to Inwa, the ancient capital, to visit
Yadama Semi, Bagaya Kyaung, Nanmyin Maha Aungmye Bonzan
Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch we will visit U Bein's Bridge and Bagayu Kyaung in Amurapura.
Dinner at hotel restaurant.
Day 5: Mandalay - Mingun - Mandalay - Bagan (B/L)
After breakfast we take a cruise on the Ayeyarwaddy River (about 11km) to the ancient city of Mingun.
Here we see the Mingun Bell and the enormous Mingun Paya, which you can climb to enjoy the spectacular
view of the river. We will also visit Pondaw, Hsinbyume and Settawya Payas. Lunch at a local restaurant
after crusing back to Mandalay. After lunch, transfer to airport for your flight to Bagan,
perhaps stopping off at the 'Snake Pagoda' or other sights if time permits. On arrival at Bagan,
transfer to hotel and dinner at hotel.
Day 6: Bagan (Pagan) (B/L)
After breakfast, visit Shwezigon Pagoda a prototype of later Myanmar stupas. Then to Wetkyi-in Gubyaukkyi
Temple with fine mural paintings of Jataka scenes. After lunch at a local restaurant
our afternoon tour includes a visit to the Manuha Temple with
gigantic Buddha images, a captive king's impression of life in prison; Nanpaya, an Early-style temple with the
finest stone carvings. Although it has spotlights installed, it would be safer to bring your own torch as
electricity supply can be shut-off from time to time. In the evening you will be visiting the Ananda Temple,
an architectural masterpiece resembling a Greek Cross.
Day 7: Bagan (B/L)
After breakfast our morning sightseeing tour begins with the Shwe Gukyi temple to see the panoramic morning beauty of
the old Bagan area. Here you will have the chance to study the ruined palace site of Bagan. Then we visit the
highest temple of Bagan “Thatbyinnyu”. Then to Dhammayangyi, a massive temple with the finest brickwork.
Lunch at a local restaurant and then a last temple will be the Sulamuni temple where you can see fine
frescos from 18th century Kone Baung era which also has a beautiful background history.
Late afternoon visit begins with your option of either a Lacquerware making village or Minnan Thu village to see the
typical Myanmar style of village life. Then we go to Lay Myathna and Phaya Thonezu Temple and have a stroll
among the ruins. In the late afternoon we will take a 1 hour cruise on the Ayeyarwaddy River. Dinner at local restaurant.
Day 8: Bagan - Thandwe - Ngapali (B)
Transfer to airport for your flight to Ngapali Beach. Ngapali Beach is 3km ribbon of white, soft sandy beach
that stretches from the village of Ngapali to Gyeiktaw. Pick up & transfer to your hotel to stay for 6 nights.
Day 9-13: Ngapali (B)
At leisure.
Day 14: Ngapali-Yangon-Departure (B)
Transfer to airport for your return flight to Yangon & connect with your flight to UK or your next destination.
